    Why do people rate him so highly?

    He's wasted our best 2 chances and almost set Dempsey free on goal with a terrible pass. He doesn't seem to influence our games positively that much at all.

    No, some people stood out. Coleman played very well. Baines was good. Gibson played some killer passes and held us together when we didn't have the ball (something we've really missed with him being out).

    Osman just didn't have it and while he's been a good squad player for us, he isn't as good as people think. Vellios played well when he replaced him. It shows our youth have a hunger to replace the old guard and I think they should be given the chance more often.

    Just does my head in when i see this from numskulls. Osman didnt have a good 1st half agreed but no more than some of the other players, improved 2nd half especially when they put us under pressure and Fellaini decided not to follow any of their runs, Ossie was there to mop up his poor defending. Over the season so far he has been our most consistent performer, having to play alongside Neville no less, and is the reason he got an England cap. So to come on here and critisise him like some useless player is unforgivable and downright lacking in the knowledge of football and this after an exciting WIN against probably the form team in the league......

    I think we all agree ossie is not a world beater, but honestly I never have any complaints and glad he's in our team

    It's always been on the back of my mind. He spills shots from outside the box constantly. Like I said, he's a squad player at best, but he's not playing very well at the moment and I don't see why people like you rate him so highly.

    I didnt... Until recently... But simple things he does well.. Connects play... Keeps it moving... Wins the ball back... Neat and tidy little player with a great first touch and the quickest feet around...

    He keeps the game going and I'll give him that but I'd love to see someone like Ofoe come in and replace him.

    Jxg mate osmans given everton his entire career and has a great attitude, I never here him moan or ask for a transfer.
    Over the years he's kept his fitness and played a big part in our team.

    I admit he's never been our best player but never at all anything near our worst.

    And honestly in the last few years I think he's been playing some good football.

    What's to moan about?

    Coz i watch the game and have a knowledge of whats going on, not sit there looking for scape goats e ven whaen we win, totally beyond me, maybe your a FIFA Game player or somat and dont have any reality football sense at all.....

    He doesn't have the visionary pass that Arteta had. He doesn't have the long shot that Gibson (sometimes) has. He doesn't have the dribbling skills of Mirallas, or the finishing of Jelavic. He's a better version of Rodwell in some respects; he can pass it around and hold it together but doesn't really start an attack.

    Oh he does... Some of his passing turns nothing into something... He's just plain lookin little ossie... Doesnt look glamorous... Didnt cost megabucks... But he makes things happen...

    I just wasnt happy when he was played out wide... Just not his position...

    I could liken him to the Carrick of Everton but Carrick does play some really good through balls. He's overlooked by everyone but for simple reasons. He doesn't stand out.

    Osman has different qualities, he's a little midfielder with good all round ability. Great in tight spaces, good on the volley, covers as much ground as most, good change of direction.
