The lads had some stick of late and on twitter today after the teamsheet was announced. I like the him and think he will come good. Todays game shown how well he can play; going forward and back.
    Too optimistic? Others being fickle?
    Thoughts?

Always rated him to come good and he looked brilliant from the very start today. The only way is up for him and I reckon he could be as good as Baines if he continues improving.

I like to think that although he aint and may never be the best, look at the likes of Rafael, RS Johnson, Dani Alves or even Ramos at one point: all could easily be slated for being as unreliable at the back as Seamus, but they're considered some of the best RB's in the world. Also, the is still gonna improve, most didnt reach peak till around 27-28.

Full backs have to attack nowadays to be considered good. Evertonians are just a bunch of old-fashioned sods who like solid defending. We prefer Hibbert because we're less likely to concede with him as our RB. If Coleman played for Barcelona he'd be the next big thing. We don't just appreciate his talent.

Coleman is the future, Hibbert has been a loyal servant, but his time is nearly up

Judging by your name, I can see why you like Coleman. If it was "efcmustdefend" then it'd be a whole other story.

The best form of defence is attack! I have always liked Coleman since the game at home to Spurs a few years back

If Bale were playing I'd almost gurantee we'd have played Hibbert. But because he wasn't it actually allowed Coleman to get forward a lot more and get on the end of some of the great long passes that Gibson did today (great to have him back). Didn't always make the most of it but he managed it when it mattered most.

Also like to say I thought the defense was very good today. We only conceded from a deflected long shot, they didn't have many clear cut chances at all apart from a few set pieces. Definatly encoruaging.

Hibbert wasn't on the bench. I think he was injured.

Ive never doubted Coleman going forward, its his defending Ive questioned in the past. Still dont think its quite there but you can teach that, whats great is we have 2 proper full backs now who can go forward and cause problems

He had a decent game today and he put in the cross for Pienaar's goal, but I think that Hibbert is better defensively and a defenders main job is to defend.
