Ere Damo how long do ankle strains last for lid? I nearly went_arse over_tit 3 and a half weeks ago while out running it wasn't too bad at the time so I carried on my routine for 5 days ain a row until the 5th day and it give up and I had to hop home like a ****'ed. Anyway rung nhs direct and they said do the rice and all that so waited till this monday as the ankle was giving no jib so I went out as per usual and it flared up again. And noticed straight away my right foot (the one I done in) doesn't work like my left one.

Does this sound normal or is there a chance I've done a stress fracture or ankle ligaments? I'd rather ask on an everton forum before I have to go and sit in the royal's a+e for hours with drunk people who smell of turds and_piss.

At the very least it needs strapping mate.
Id say best scenario its a severe strain or minor ligament which is couple of week. If its worst scenario and bad ligament or fracture its 6-8 weeks out.

    You need an x-ray mate.
Cant say 100 percent without seeing it.

    Is there discolouration ?
    Is there numbness ?
Are your feet cold to touch ?
Pain in toes or heel ?

Id go and get it x-rayed. Best time to go a&e is 6-7 in the morning. Nobody there.

    You been taking anti-inflammatorys ?

i dont know much about stuff like this tone, but, if you dont get it seen to its only a matter of time before it spreads up your legs up your thigh and when it eventually starts attacking the ball sack you will suffer from 'twisted ball syndrome' if left and not attended to, this can eventually cause the tip of the p_enis to start changing to a blackish colour, and, in time, it will drop off.

Hope you get it sorted pal. :)

Nice one will go in the morning and get an x ray.

Is there discolouration ? Only what look like broken veins on the inside part of me anke where it still pains if I press on the point.

    Is there numbness ? Nein

Are your feet cold to touch ? My toes on the foot I done in were cold the first few days after I did it but are ok now like

Pain in toes or heel ? none in the toes sometimes in my heel and it will randomly go up the Achilles an all

You been taking anti-inflammatorys ? All I take is ibuprofen which are sort of arent they?

I can put weight on it now and walk compared to last week but motion of me foot still don't feel right.

Could be nerve impingement but again only an x-ray / scan can prove that.

you can tell how bad it is by getting someone to place their hand on your instep..then try pushing your foot against their hand...repeat on the outstep..this will isolate which side it is....and according to level of pain the severity of it...

be very careful if they bandage it up mate...A&E are notorious for strapping the wrong way !!

The pain will always be on your heel as thats the "first" pressure point as you walk...hence the pain in your achilles..

rest and more rest..(ie no running) if it's a sprain with no swelling it will ease up in about 2 weeks..but dont be tempted to start running straight away..exercise it....circular motion of your foot..then point your toes straight out and move the foor up and down (as in nodding yer head) from the heel..repeat a few times..and keep doing it over a few days until no stiffness.soreness or pain...

Love you and everything Khl but most of its b 0llocks mate

Pain isnt necessarily indicative of the severity of r pain.

    1. Different levels of pain threshold
    2. Sometimes no pain on impact or push and pull isnt always a good sign

I wouldnt do any physio exercise until youve had an all clear

Who would suggest bandaging if not A & E. bud ?

Toes to knee , dont see how they can go wrong

it's exactly what i got taught when doing my physio stuff....

Pain isnt necessarily indicative of the severity of r pain. not what i'm sayin mate..you can assess how "bad" the injury is by the pressure the person is able to apply..ie lots of pressure not too bad..no pressure..bad...(watch the physios do it when a player goes down)

    movement = good..some movement = not too bad/good depending..no movement = bad..

we've had many a problem with ankle injuries due to the A&E bandaging "the wrong way round" if done incorrectly it can bind the ligaments and tendons out of line and the injury only gets prolonged...first thing our physio does if someone comes in with an ankle injury is checks the binding...
