Those long looping balls from the back

    Why?

We were outpassing and outplaying Norwich the whole first half and it brought us loads of chances, yet we changed our tactics to lumping it up to no-one. When you have the skill to outplay the other team (which we did), why rely on so many 50/50 balls? A few is okay; 15-20 isn't.

We did the same last week, I think.

probably because our midfield was poor today and we never gave the defenders any outlet the second half, omly oviedo can take any credit out the midfield, hitz started well but faded and needed replacing, ossies been **** since his england call up and piennar well lol hes been dire the last few weeks

because they pressed us  did you hear their manager shouting instructions to them ? it was relentless  we had no answer to it so we started lumping it to jela  who again was useless  in them circumstances
the ref was a joke  but take nothing from norwich they fully earned the point

The defenders can go back or sideways though. They may not have been given enough options, but i still thought they were too quick to chip the ball foward. We did seem to play with less bravery in the 2nd half and i thought this cost us in the end, although we still should have won. If i was Moyes, i would have the defenders practicing short passing all week! and the rest of the team needs to do some shooting practice!

forget the short passes there defenders moyes should get them practicing defending, we have been pissssssssss poor at the back most of the season and giving away shocking goals all season, and we badly need a goaly now, howard is becomming a liability on set pieces.

It's been the tactic the past few weeks. I don't know whether it's because we've been without Gibson, but the midfield aren't giving the defenders an outlet and then we resort to lumping it at Fellaini, who, despite being pretty much the tallest guy in the premier league, can't win a **** heading.

Why we were hoofing it today was beyond me, seeing as we didn't have much height up there.

It's all about lazyness, and lack of movement. This is how we usually start the season, we don't play football, we don't move, we expect it just to happen. I don't know whether it's due to lack of fitness or what, but we just play ****.

"We were outpassing and outplaying Norwich the whole first half..."

full marks to chris hughton, he changed things in the 2nd half, playing higher up the pitch and their midfield tackling hard not giving  us time to settle on the ball. they played well in the 2nd half, we didnt. in the end howard saved our bacon.

pienaar gets moved around too much.  he really needs to stay on the left.  We have this illusion that he's a world class player.  he isnt.  he needs baines if he's going to be anything better than average.  this is why he flopped at spurs.

Ossie cant play more than 60 minutes in any game.  ever.  he always vanishes in the second half.

no gibson, noone to tie the midfield together.

we get lazy when we get  a lead.  we are too used to the days when it was all clean sheets. We are at our best when attacking, no matter what the score.

All this leads to hoof ball and late game breakdowns.

we lack urgency and commitment in all departments - we have a laid back lazy attitude which cracks me - we play as though time on the ball will give us a win - other weaker sides with much less posession do more with the ball and converts their chances - our defense hangs back and leaves too much space for attackers instead of pressing them and closing their options down - we have a hanging defense - a walking midfield and waiting forwards - i want to see an attacking defense , a pacy midfield and searching forwards

exactly the same as the newcastle game.

Pardew changed tactics and Moyes couldn't make the subs that affected the game.

So far both Hughton and Pardew have outdone Moyes but would anyone want them as our Manager
