"Moyes 'never been so angry' after Everton gift win to Reading

Toffees could – and should – have broken into the top three, but after dominating the first half they let strugglers steal all the points.  David Moyes claimed Everton cannot “mix it with the top teams” if they lose to strugglers like Reading.

Moyes’s side totally dominated the first half, scored one goal through Steven Naismith and could have had two penalties. But just like at Fulham in their last away game, Everton threw away points when they should have won as they allowed the home side to come back after the break. Instead of moving within a point of third place, Everton drop out of the top four after only their second defeat in 21 Premier League games.

The Scot, who admitted he had never been so angry after a game, said: “I have told them I am not happy they are not winning those games. If we realistically want the opportunity to mix it with the top teams then we can’t lose games like that.

“We will have games in which we’ll play badly, not win and have to take it. But we have to win games when we are on top.

“Our play has been excellent but we are just not looking like we are going to get three or four goals at the moment. We should be, but we are not.

“When you’re in this league, you can’t give away points.”

might not be a bad idea. moyse has delayed his contract talks til the new year, even tho his contract expires at the end of this year.

"Moyes has delayed contract negotiations until the New Year, despite his current terms running out at the end of the season, and it is widely expected he will eventually seek a new challenge." http://tinyurl.com/arr5zbr

Just the curse of a poor start to the season looks like its catching up on us, the defence can't defend like every start to the season but it will get better, thank god we've got the fire power to **** a few goals back and with Pienaar, osman, Felli, Mirallas and Jelavic we should be scoring every game

The defence clearly isn't stable without the comfort of knowing Gibson is protecting them, once opposing teams break through and get past Neville they know he's not going to be able to catch up and therefore the defence is left vulnerable to through balls or attack from the wings.

We don't have the height to defend corners and we can't rely on Felli to be in those posistions everytime

Hitzlsperger I thought was our MOTM the other day, for someone who has been injured for a while and at his age considered to be a strange choice has shown why he was an international and did his job when required

I'm looking to a positive future and think we'll return to winning ways against Norwich and we will test our champions league quality against Arsenal

I too am looking to a positive future and all things considered I don't think we have had a bad start to the season but I don't think we are anywhere near Champions League quality.

I do think that if Moyes is undecided about his future the board should be making plans to help him decide.

Why not sound out Di Matteo in the background and if we have to make a tough decision, make it.

Im not saying Moyes is a bad manager (though I do think he gets overhyped in the media sometimes) but I do think that both parties could benefit form a change and a refresh.

I have to agree with BlueMineck....I think we have been in a comfortable position for a long time...We don't need to be scared anymore...I have always questioned Moyes's tactics  (Negative)...Maybe it is the right time?

it seems like we were playing a little some what arrogant, as if we'd just win the game, and has for the last two or three games. we're having a great start, dont get me wrong I'm loving some of the football we are playing at times. But maybe ita good thing that DM as gone on the rampage. maybe this will open the eyes to some players.
Lets hope on 3 point on Saturday.
