Cahill wants to come back in January

    "I’m not overthe hill yet. Aussie is chasing a loan return to Everton in 2013. The Aussie midfielder was a cult figure in eight years at Goodison before his £1million move to New York Red Bulls in the summer.

    But now Cahill would love to return to Merseyside on a short-term deal in January. Cahill, 32, admitted: “I am eager to come back.“The main thing is that I get to enjoy the MLS but I also get the chance of joining back up in the Premier League and playing in the best league in the world.
    “So hopefully something can be done. It would be nice."
    Would it be nice?

    Whats the point? He's got a 3 match ban to serve.

    I think it would be nice to have him round the team, you know he is going to give 100 percent and doubt it would cripple us financially.

    I do however feel our overall game has changed since he left and we look to play a more fluent passing game to break opponents but against Reading on Saturday a player like Cahill always had a last minute goal in his locker.

    As I have said before, it would be good if he came to train with the team as it would be good to have him around the place, but he isn't good enough to play for us anymore.

    That was it though in his prime he did for 2 years he didn't even offer that.
