    I just dont understand where some of the racism comes from, Television comedies of the 60's 70's and 80's were acceptable banter and humour, enjoyed by all creeds. When and why did all this suddenly become unacceptable? Tolerence was there then coz it was over everything, Paddy jokes, Religious jokes, culture jokes, all sorts but now you have to be careful what you say as it can be construde as offensive and not humour or banter. Such a shame the word TOLERENCE doesnt exist anymore. the world would be a better place for it im sure. I know this seems very simplistic what im saying as Racism in the purest form shouldnt be tolerated, its just that its gone over the top and is used as racism when really its just not there.....

    Was it enjoyed by all creeds?! Or did those in the vast minority not feel able to stand up and be counted in that climate? I know for a fact that as a child (with an Irish surname) and young man living in London during the IRA bombings, I took a lot of stick, not to mention the looks etc when my name was called out in public.

    You'll never know what it is to be an immigrant (or the son of) until you experience it. It's not nice.
