DM Needs to Look Closer at His Tactics.

Look at Saturdays game, and now having seen it twice in replay, i do feel that major turning point was to substitution of Nevile. Big Fell was shadowed all game, and Sunderland defense had Fell in their pocket. Once the Sud happened, and Fell dropped back to CM role and having two forwards, Fell got the space and time he needed.
I believe that if Moyes had done this sub earlier in the game we wouldn't had had to wait so long to get back into the game.

agree that Fellaini also maybe Osman, mirallas and piennar need to be used more flexibly during a game, but cant see Moyes completely overcoming his natural cautiousness. think one of things maybe we are is missing is a cm who gives them that freedom and authority on the pitch. but that leads us back to neville again.

to be fair to Moyes.....Fellaini has had an impact in most games this season from the more forward role (had scored 2 goals the previous game)......you can't just change things every 20 mins if it's not working in 1 game, you have to belief in your team & your tactics.....Moyes eventually changed it up after 70 and it worked....

and i think last season (and other seasons) you could have accused Moyes of being overly cautious...i don't think you can throw that at him this season.......we're probably the most attacked minded team in the league this season...if anything, we're too attack minded at times....

generally agreeing with you. the adjustment should come from the pitch as natural thing when its crucial. would have happily seen Fellaini back helping defence in the last five minutes of games we are ahead in

yep, i'm not complaining.....most enjoyable Everton team in a long time...i'm hoping when gibson gets back, he gives our backline abit more protection than Neville is....but other than that, i'm happy out

So long as Gibson in means Neville out as super impact sub, and not Neville to RB & Coleman out - I know he's not the best defensively, but I think this adds to our attack mindedness.

I'm not saying change things for every, but step back, take a look at the situation and see that things are not going as normal. Fell was not really in the game, as normal, there for changing things around a little wouldn't hurt, as we seen from the out come of the game. as soon as Fell was put back into a CM role the game changed, he was not shadowed, and the defenders were marking the two CF's leaving Fell to push on without much pressure, in fact the sunderland defense forget about him, and the result was two goal. What if DM had done this at half time? would have won by 4 or 5.
we don't need to change the tactics but more "horses for courses".
it didnt work in the first 65-70 min, DM changed it and moved players around, and it worked. I guess you could say he need a better "hindsight"

i'd say moyes has been pretty flexible as pienaar and mirallas have switched wings during games...

not a big fan of this being done too often as pienaar/baines aint broke...

the fact that i could see it not working for 65-70 before our manager (^.^) (and I only have a level2 coaching badge) and it's not a complaint, more an observation.

The only thing I would change is to play Mirralas on the right and leave Baines and Peanut to work their magic on the left.   Give teams hell down both flanks...and stretch them too.

I'm not talking about changing our system, it was just the Sub's and timing from Saturdays game (sunderland). I think the team is playing really well, and Big Fell, the Belgian Beast, is doing a boss job as a CAM/CF. it was just that one game Vs Sunderland where he couldn't get the defenders of his back
