"Witnesses of War" by Nicholas Stargardt.......Childrens lives under The Nazis....

Thought this would be a really interesting read about kids in the war from the german side, includes Jewish kids, well off kids, hitler youth, what was considered delinquents and so on. However its been a bit of a slog, the author thanks his friends for their advice on proof reading for him in that he over does the historical facts and not enough of the childrens stories, so he re wrote the book. However dont think he listened properly, as all the historical facts just keep coming up time after time, and when youve read them so many times in other books it becomes a bit tedious to read. When you do get the childrens stories then its ok, but again a real slog of a book.

Beg, what you in hospital for, you ok?

I'm ok, just mentally and physically stressed about my Mom. She has been in the hospital for a week and was very very ill. After 6 units of blood, she is slowly but surely on the mend. It will be a long road to recovery though. Thanks for the concern and for asking after me.

Beyond Religion by the Dalai Lama. he thinks we need a system of ethics based on humanist values rather than religions. couldnt agree more. the 21st century and we are still fighting wars over the abrahamic faiths. pathetic.
