At the start if after 10 games we would be 4th ahead of liverpool and playing great football then i would taken that .
We have had a great start, yes we should have scored more and won a few more , but we are 4th , happy with that.

more importantly we are playing football that should keep us up there. realistically though we are 3 points from 10th so Moyes and senior professionals need to work hard to keep the belief that we are where we should be in the league

true, its a very tight league, and after watching match of the day, no other team is playing as good as us.
man utd playing ok and also missing goals like us, but overall cant see any team playing better

we should, we've drop points which would have seen us sitting at the top with a point. but i hope with sunderland coming to the park we may see our GD go up, well i hope so.

we don't have the points total after 10 games that our football has deserved......which is disappointing....

Spurs haven't played well yet, and still they have the same points as us....Arsenal have been patchy, but still they have only 2 points less....

having watched Newcastle a few times, i don't think they're a contender for 4th spot.....

Spurs & arsenal....well they aren't as good as last season..... but we will have to take atleast 4 points off both of them in the head to heads....

the next 6 games are huge......we have 3 games next which we have a decent chance of 9 points (sunderland, reading, norwich) which we badly need.......because then its Arsenal, Man City & spurs...3 massive games which i can't wait for....

The only issue I have is the disallowed goal against Newcastle. The rest of the results we have are fully deserved as we have been defending like amateurs bar a few excellent last-ditch tackles.

Howard has been stopping some great one-on-ones, but his positioning for most of the goals against us were dubious to say the least.

We are closer to 10th than 1st so being 4th is no great comfort when we have to keep chasing games we should be bossing. Nice to see though.. but the reality is that with a less potent attack, we would be propping up the table at the moment...........

Still, I'll take it and hope for more cover for our defence and less pressure on them so we can really start to punish teams for the remainder of the season.

think the point about Howard is important. I am surprised about Moyes emphasising not taking chances when its ridiculous to be conceding an average of 2 goals a game when we are on top. the chances wlll prob go in more regularly when the anxiety goes that we will concede from nothing.

because of the attacking nature of the football we are going to be exposed at the back. however allot of the goals we are conceding are from dead balls and unfortunate errors not to mention some dodgy desicions. Gibson gives a much better balance between attack and defence which we have missed badly. Get him fit and cover in the Jan window and we will we are going to have a bloody good season. FORGET FOURTH , WE ARE LOOKING HIGHER

Plenty of away games hasn't helped but we are looking stronger than usual early in the season which is great news.

The anxiety is in the defence coz were not scoring enough. We must be averaging about 15-20 chances a game and not scoring more than 2 on the whole, bar twice when we got 3, and we won those. But when were only a goal up or as more recently having to come from behind and dominating with chance after chance and not scoring, is it a wonder Moyes sent on Distin, in the last game..............

i think that is going to be the kind of team we are though. you get 2 or 3 goals a game either with clinical players or creating enough chances that some go in. few teams get both and we can't afford clinical finishers. Jelavic isn't really that, he looks to me like someone who will have streaks of scoring alongside his confident streaks, but his biggest attribute ifor me is his movement and the way it creates space for others. I would not be complaining at all about the defence at the moment if we were conceding through smart counter attacks, but on Saturday it was clumsiness in giving away a free kick and a strange piece of keeping by Howard. The second goal is just one of those things that we can debate, five mins to go..one up, do we just keep the ball or still keep trying to play. really happy with the football we are playing but an organiser at the back wouldn't damage that. Shoule be Nevllle but his legs are a yard behind his brain

Conceding 2 isn't so bad. If it were 3 or 4 I'd be worried.

I'd say we need shooting practice. Almost every player launched at least one shot off-target - Pienaar, Mirallas,Jela, Coleman,  even Jags twice I think. Naismith's rebound shot was dismally weak. Only Fellaini had all his on target and one off the post although he missed one from a yard or two away where he could have just stuck his leg out.

its bad in terms of how many games we are dominating in terms of possession, but wouldn't be bothered if they were happening because we are extending ourselves in attack, but with our full backs moving forward then someone who reads the game at the back is essential. And Howard sorting his positioning and handling is essential. Moyes will reign them in if it continues, not something any of us want. Our shots on target are second highest in prem, too many off target admittedly but think it will all come good in terms of chances taken as confidence increases. shooting practice not a bad idea but killer instinct really is that just instinct and any doubts in the mind are a problem.

I think we are playing like the brazil of the 70's and 80's in the sense we are saying its doesnt matter how many we concede we will score more than you the only problem is we aren't scoring more then the other teams just playing like we are. This isn't a bad thing as it looks fantasic to watch but we do need to score more of our chances if we do have 20 chances in a game we need to be hitting 15 on target and 3 in the back of the net
