    It wouldn't surprise me. Clattenburg has been at the centre of the most controversial decisions in recent history. 
    That Mendes goal at Old Trafford that crossed the line but wasn't given... Clattenburg was ref
    Nani handball free kick controversy which led to a goal against Spurs a few yeas back... Clattenburg was ref
    Ridiculous cards were given out in the West Ham QPR match this year.... Clattenburg was ref
    Of course the Merseyside derby in 2007.... we all know Clattenburg was ref

    Not to mention the fact he had been sacked by the FA before due to breach of contract involving business debts and threats made to an associate of his. The man's a disgrace and so are the FA for continuing to employ him and half the eejits they do to officiate Premier League matches.

    From the look of the match on MotD, he stitched poor old Chelsea up good and proper. Torres was clearly fouled, yet he was sent off for "diving". Ferguson, the_twat, in his post-match interview, had the good grace to say that Torres did not need to go down, despite the footage showing that he was tripped. Grrr.

    It looks as if the refs have been told to get tough with divers. Neville was helped down by the rs defender, it did not interrupt the play, yet Phil was still penalised. Sublime and ridiculous, all in the same 90 minutes, in both matches.

    According to the mail he called Mata a Spanish tw_@t, nothing on the second allegation but Mikel is supposed to have gone into the referees room for a kick off after the game, hope that is the back of him, terrible ref

    even though he's a total t**T...i FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELEIEVE ...he's sed what is alleged ..he's miked up for FFS..to at least 3 other people...and i'm surer they're miked up to the assessor in the stands on some occasions too...

    It's hard to believe he would be so stupid, he is an arrogant git though so maybe he thought he'd get away with it. Sky sports said they don't record the conversations between the officials so it makes no difference that he was miked, why wouldn't it be recorded though, very strange?

    find it hard to believe as well.....this week of all weeks.....

    one thing to consider (which sky sports didn't bother to last night) is what if the players are lying.....

    and if a player has falsely accused clattenberg of racial abuse.....should the player not get a long ban in return....

    i'm sure the truth will come out soon enough, but seemed like a media witch hunt last night, which isn't helpful to any campaign....

    To be honest we will never know what really happened...but ..I hope this is the start of a widespread investigation into match officials and corruption...it is so blatently going on

    As Pearce rightly points out this fella is no stranger to dodgy decisions which just do not make sense to anyone. Get his paddy power checked out, be some interesting betting patterns, i'd bet!

    he should never have refereed a game again after that merseyside derby......the most bizaare, clearly biased, performance ever....
    i'll hold my judgement on him over these racist claims....but he should have been sacked long ago for that game....

    the miked up thing is nowt to do with sky..it's about communication with each other...sky just try and "tap" into it...
