always liked Barca for not having sponsors on shirt. don't think the money that comes in is really worth how **** it can look. has anyone actually bought anything cos its on an Everton shirt. I still don't know what Hafnia or NEC sell.

i think its quite shameful of newcastle to have wonga as their sponsor

the interest that they charge on their short term loans are criminal, it's wrong that they can actually get away with it

if they're there, some people will use them for cash, i see it every day in my job, where people have had their benefits/wages all swallowed up in card payments from wonga

    they're like a legal loan-shark?

    shouldnt be allowed imo

How? Lenders must charge a rate higher than inflation, otherwise they would lose. If there are no lenders, then the rate of inflation is the maximum loss your capital can make. The only advantage to borrowing is that you get your stuff sooner, rather than having to save up for it. Assuming you buy a big thing every five years, you only have to wait for the first thing. The subsequent things arrive at the same frequency. Because the rate of inflation is lower than any viable lender's rate, you can afford bigger things, or buy them more frequently.

i seem to remember Kanoute refusing to have a betting site on his jersey but i cant see how a loan bank would break his religion?

Sharia law and interest not compatible... Hypocritical because they still lend/borrow money but call it something different...

It's the hook I've always been more worried about... Nobody thought about the hook in all of this...

Alan Pardew has told his Newcastle United players to forget all about the club's new sponsorship deal with Wonga.com.

He's told them to just get on the pitch and give it 4107%.
