Moyes Poor Team Selection to blame again and again

    Am an admirer of what mr moyes has achieved at everton and some decent transfers but frustrated by team selections over the years and lack of making changes early when obvious underperforming.
    I truely believe everton could be top 4 challengers this year with fully fit squad if players are selected in different positions as league only thing to focus on while other teams have to play europe, big advantage.
    1. phil nev. either play him at right back or NOT at all. hes a good chap and good leader but thats it, rather see him on coaching staff. we are starting a man down every time he is selected in midfield. moyes fault! open your eyes david!!!!
    2. because of this wrong selection i believe Distin has been punished and dropped been made scapegoat for mistakes at back which i think are coming from the inadequacies in central midfield.
    3. Fellaini....He was magnificent playing the holding role dictating the game for everton for a long time. for me thats were he shone.why has he been completely removed from this role this year? i know he is a handful for any team at times but everton need that quality in central midfield not the tim cahill role.
    4. the break off from fellani occupying behind the striker role means
    5.kevin mirallas pushed out to the right? awful management!! he looks a super direct striker not a winger purely wasted and id suspect frustrated at minute stuck out there, all he wants to do is shoot and score goals.

    those are main concerns at minute. hope you read this david and tinker a little. mirallas jelavic up front pienaar fellaini whoever/gibson/ozzie even j.h & coleman midfield. baines distin jags and nev.
    could pay to strengthen the right side of the team some season. baines may get lots of credit on left but without the super most important player in the team Pienaar, everton are very ordinary.

    Moyes is 80% great 20% woeful and that 20% costs us an awful lot

    Nobody can blame a poor team choice for yesterday, its been the same for the last 2 games. In those 2 games we scored 6 and conceded 1. Fellaini has always played a box to box game but Moyes has pushed him into Cahill's role now he's not here. as soon as Gibbo is back I think we'd see Neville probably back at RB and Mirallas on that wing has been a masterstroke the attacking threat he made combined with Coleman against Southampton was something the right side of the field has missed since the 80's!!!

    If Mirallas can make this much of an impact in his first few games at a club I can't wait to see him when he's an adapted player who understands the squad.

    Armchair managing again.

    I don't know why Moyes is in line for the Man Utd job (allegedly). Must be the Scottish connection.

    At least we'll have no end of replacements lining up !!!!!

    Totally agree with Jayback on this. We should've had 3 penalties yesterday and the first goal was offside. Heitinga was poor yesterday but there was nothing wrong with the team selection.

    agreed. its more frustrating now we have a half decent squad than it was ten years ago when the team was so small it picked itself.

    ok jay maybe your happy with stats and results, am more of a performance over results anyday kinda person i appreciate quality football.
    on fellaini being pushed into cahill role. there is NO need for the cahill role anymore now, when everton for once have more than 1 decent striker, cahill role came as everton only ever had 1 worthy striker on the go past couple decades.
    jelavic is perfectly capable of holding the ball up bringing others into play were i believe mirallas will terrorise defenders if freed up to play striker not chase back and defend. yes hes did fine job but thats because he is a quality player anyway, why not get the best out of him?
    As for neville, No not in midfield were starting a man down when i see that teamsheet, rarely are we able to sit and dictate & control games when he is starter in that role
    but hey thats my opinion am just frustrated seeing points slip by and poor performance when capable of better,so am speaking out today,
    i respect your views thx for comments. and aussie i wouldnt swap moyes for any apart from guardiola

    Please don't criticise when Gibson is out injured. Until he is back, Moyes has to make do.

    Think as someone (or two) has already pointed out - today was a bit more about officialdom than managing.

    But a point is good - better than none. They battled it out. Good signs.

    nothing to do with yesterdays game. iv had neville issue for years in that posi. he is awful in that midfield role plain and simple. should not be starting there. cant defend cant pass, hes solid at right back thats it. fellaini is great in that role which is my point which you dont grasp. makes everton much better team. so as we are strong on the striking front we should have our best midfielders play in midfield. abc stuff

    If the percentages are 80-20 in Moyes favour thats not a bad percentage to work from as no managers percentage would be 100% anyway.

    I'm not denying what you say is true. All I'm saying is (& we also don't know what is going on behind the scenes). It's always easy to sit in your chair & judge (and usually in retrospect) I've done it too.

    I'm sure other fans tear strips off their Manager after every game they lose and/or should have won.

    It's part of the game.

    If we get to Europe he'll turn into a hero faster than the speed of light.

    Sorry but the management positioning of players come into that category for me too. No one is untouchable it doesnt mean you dont respect them.
    its not about armchair managing its just a personal opinion.
    some agree with some statements others dont.
    As i fan i like to see the team at its best so raising my concerns here with like minded fans
    Moyes will go down as everton hero reaching europe or not

    Every time we lose (or in this case draw) we get similar posts. Sorry but it just irritates the **** out of me.

    This is not based on results!
    As milky stated no one is 100% perfect.
    Just because you disagree with 1 or 2 positions in the field does not cancel out all the great stuff moyes has done at the club thats just plain nonsense
    I question things, i think for myself. not the b***sh*t thats fed to us.
    Disagreeing with a small percentage of something does not mean you have to hate everything in that subject matter. glad you feel irritated

    On the players available the only change I would have made was Distin instead of Heitinga to combat the height and strength of Wigans forwards Kone and Santos. Obviously Moyes realised this at half time when he took Heitinga off and put Distin on.  Although in Moyes defense many fans have said Jags and Heitinga are our best central defensive duo, obviously at the moment that is not the case. Heitinga appears to have gone from hero to zero in five months. He needs to decide where his future lies.

    Fellaini is OK where he is. If he has any problem at all it's his temperament. He is too easily put out of his stride by rough treatment or percieved bad ref decisions against him. He needs to stop sulking and get on with the game. He's a great player and an icon for the fans.

    We play QPR in a fortnight. I'm sure Gibson will be back in central midfield alongside Osman. I would stick with Coleman at rightback since he gives us better attacking options with Mirallas than either Neville or Hibbert does. Besides if we are ever going to get the best out of him he needs games.

    Finally. We can't win them all. We have had a very good start to the season but that doesn't mean we can't draw or lose and when we do it doesn't mean we should immediately rip into the manager just because he didn't pick this or that player. As far as I'm concerned only poor officiating cost us a win a Wigan and you can't blame the manager of the players for that. The team fought hard at what has always been a difficult ground for us and that is all you can ever ask for.

    ok brotherblue i respect your happiness. for me i think we played crap at times v wigan, we are better than that if manager uses what is available in the best possible way which i dont believe he is doing so when nev starts in midfield and fell wasted up front when we are not strong enough in midfield.
    As for good start? opponents havent been upto much so far, after chelsea man city arsenal & liverpool wel see better, but def capable this year.

    I don't see how you can criticize the teams performance. we've been playing absolutely amazing. I don't think anybody would have expected this.

    The only downfall to our squad is we're can never match for pace at the back.

    he seems to see what i see and have the same philosphy as me

    play your best players in their best positions.


    nev is no cm but is better at RB

    Coleman is better at RM

    Felli is decent in the hole but is our best def cm so play him there.

    Mirallas is a striker who can play in the hole yet he is playing RM which works but isn't his best position.

    Moyes could easily drop nev to RB coleman to RM Felli to def cm and Mirallas playing off Jelli

    Footy seems simple to me
