    I hate losing to that lot but I'll be quite happy for us not to have to play in this comp. A waste of time and effort and by the looks of it, the players agree.

    I'd rather win a domestic cup than qualify for the CL.  And to be honest the domestic cupshould is more realistic (I thought!!)

    Each to their own hopes and expectations.

    I'd like us to be bringing in the kind of money being in the CL offers. If we can do it for 2 maybe 3 seasons in the next 5 we'll wipe out our debt, be a club known across Europe and be able to attract the kind of players to keep us there, with enough money to pay them and not be doing a Leeds.

    In the big picture, for me, this cup means nothing.

    I see where you are coming from and I don't disagree that that would be great. . . . . I just don't think it is realistic.  I don't believe that we will finish top four this year.  I did believe we could win this cup!

    Did you believe we'd finish top 4 the season we did? I know I didn't.

    I've never been a fan of this competition, it has always seemed to me to be unnecessary extra games, taking energy much better spent in the PL.

    If I were an Everton player there's no way I'd give my all to win this, even if I'd won nothing but it in my whole career I'd leave the medal in the bog for inspiration.
