Moyes ominously quiet over Rodwell.....

I know David Moyes is very professional and all...but he hasn't said a public word about Rodwell's departure.

Is he happy about it? Did he engineer it? Was Rodwell sold from underneath him?

I think that, more important than any 21 year old's departure from the club, is David Moyes' state of mind with only a year to go on his contract.

His reaction is perhaps the most important episode in the short term future of the club.....

Hopefully he will have the balls to stand by his threats of last summer and demand improvement on our transfer budget

although the time to act may have been last summer and Moyes just kept quiet and collected his 60k a week

What do you expect him to do? Run around Finch Farm searching for someone holding a microphone in front of a Sky camera?

The pre match press conferences are back again on Friday. He'll speak about it there!

I don't think managers generally use Twitter like the players do. They are supposed to be authority figures and with the controversies you see on Teitterfrom players it's a bad idea for a manager to get involved.

I'd say Moyes was quite happy.

    Phil Neville:
"I think it's a fantastic deal for both parties. For Jack, to go and play at the Champions League level and for the Club to receive a lot of money.
"I think the Club's done a fantastic job with Jack in terms of helping him fulfil that potential. Hopefully we can strengthen the team."

I'd say the Captain would know roughly how much the deal was for, and that's "a lot of money". In today's term that's at least £20m IMO.
Knowing that, if Nev's hoping to "strengthen the team", that's code for Moyes' has targets AND money.

You missed the point though.....the bigger picture is whether Moyes will feel that this is the last straw, another 'big' player being sold etc etc.

As mentioned, keeping Moyes is far more important than ANY player in the squad!

Sorry ya were doing well until ya said "another big player"..........since when has Rodwell been a big player at Everton in the last 3 seasons, or are you one of these blue tinted glasses fans who only see what you wanna see.......

I don't think anyone missed any point. Moyes has the say on transfers and was obviously happy to let Jack go for the sum being offered by City

cant remember rodwell being a big player, this is one of the best deals we have done in a long time, and if being honest, moyes would rather lose rodders than baines/fellaini... also so would i

Why do you think I used inverted commas? 'Big' is a matter of opinion.
