Firstly we are all sad to see arteta go but he will always be the best little spaniard we know...lets remember his last 6 yrs...goals and magic. secondly we still have a really strong squad in comparison to all other prem lge teams bar 4 or 5, and 2 new players who look like pretty good footballers. we have to be realistic, money is not there at moment so buying just for the sake of it would be foolish in long run (high wages and fees etc). 10 mil is a good deal and beckford/yak money was good too. im sure at least 75%of this will be invested in jan or next summer.....have faith in moyes and lads....coyb

I doubt any money will be invested. Our debt was 45mill and the bank capped it at 25mill.
We have now reduced it to 25.

We have been borrowing money every year to support Moyes, the only way of paying it back is by selling assets.
We have stripped everything else, we only have the team left to make money on.

We lose money each year, but with Arteta and Yak off the books, we may break even with the reduced wage bill. If we start running the club as a profitable business, we may find a buyer.

Nothing against Bill, admire what he has done, but we do need to grow and he is not the right man to deliver.

I agree mate with everything but the 75% being re-invested. I was sad to see Arteta go but i agree with others that he was not worth the money we were paying him and is getting injured a lot more now that he is getting on a bit. We have no money so lets get on with it and hope we stay injury free on our key players. If Rodwell and Barkley step up to the mark then i am quietly optimistic about our season ahead. As with re-investment we will be lucky to see 4 mill of the cash in Jan but thats what happens when you owe banks!

I suppose I might be a bit optimistic about the money.....but I just have a feeling moyes will have had the guarantee of at least the arteta money to spend....fingers crossed!!lets see how the new lads get on...maybe one of them will turn out to be a gem.

"Everton manager David Moyes will be given a chunk of midfielder Mikel Arteta's £10m fee to spend in the January transfer window after the Spaniard's move to Arsenal was done too late for Moyes to get a replacement. His priorities will be a midfielder and a striker."

10 mill is an excellent deal, arteta as been poor for the last 2 seasons, its a pity we didnt get to spend it on a porven striker.

has our situation really undergone a major change in the last week?

i dont think so. moysey has to wheel and deal to get new players. he may not have liked to sell arteta, but when a player hands in a transfer request its best to get him out asap.

what about the squad we've got. its still one of the best. on our day we can beat any team in the league. will these new guys work out?

lets be optimistic. it doesnt cost anymore than being pessimistic and moysey has a pretty good track record for picking up bargains. also we've got ten days to get them acclimatised and into the squad.

we go into the international break with a win under out belts and we have a game in hand over the rest of the epl, except spurs.

our next match is at home to villa on saturday. if we can get another 3 points out of that we will be riding high.
