there seems to be a hump load of freaking out going on in here and the media regarding our club, talking about how we are gonna get relegated. it makes me sick, people like Adrian Durham off talk sport. id love to give him the Essex elbow if i saw him.

the fact is, we sold pienaar, vaughan, arteta, the yak, beckford and turner. that's got to be nearly 200k a week off the wage bill, not to mention nearly 20m in the bank. OK, some of that was probably used to finance drethe and denis but what of the rest?
if its gone to the bank then so be it. in my opinion, we have kept the core of our team in tact and added a goal scorer, albeit in the argie league, and a classy winger AND cleared a chunk of debt and reduced our out goings.
on form, apart from pienarr (who has now been replaced) the players we sold were not much more than squad players. so where does that leave us then?
    banks off our backs?
    turning over a profit?
    more chances for youth?
    moyes hasn't walked?
    best players still here?
seriously people, we will be fine. this summer was the 2 steps back we needed to take so that we can take 3 steps forward

I believe we will be 4th-7th this year. our team is good.

Barkley has come through which more than covers Arteta. Drenthe more than covers Peanuts. Yobo more than covers Duffy. Denis covers Beckford. Yak wasn't here anyway.

Why is everyone so down? It must have gone better than most feared? I was expecting Felli or Baines to go without anyone coming in, was everyone else expecting no sales and new players!!

exactly! thats what im sayin. we all knew AND pretty much expected that someone had to be sacrificed and most agreed that it would be rodwell or arteta, preferably arteta because of his form and wages. no one realy expected us to sign anyone so to get drenthe (who is awsome btw) and denis is a nice bonus right?

Exactly, we have got the pace on wing we were missing and the height up front (plus yobo back to cover CD and LB). All we need is Bily or Barkley to step up into Arteta's boots (not hard with his performances last year) and it would be like gaining a few players and paying a large part of our debt in one swoop.

Surely paying the debt of a chunk will help in the sale of the club as well.
