Of the 120 - 130 Times i went to Goodison Park in the 1980's & ONCE on the train in 1994 i never had a Proper Look round the City Centre. So i hope to on Monday. I remember when i went from Wolverhampton to Liverpool (Return) in Aug '94 it was about £30, its now £32, so thats why i can't afford it regularly. I used to travel on the Everton West Mids supporters club Coach or on my Motorbike in those days. What do you recommend me seeing?? Is the Evolution 2 in the City centre?

What type of thing do you like Daive, there is tonnes of historical places.... in fact try visitliverpool.com got loads on there, if you get a chance go on the duck it will give you a quick tour of the docks and the city centre but wear your wellies as it goes in the Mersey!

Oh and Bromborough is Birkenhead, avoid at all costs, unless you have spare change and fags

Just like seeing the 'sights'? Quite a few people look like 'sights' LLM I've seen / heard about the Duck, not sure about that. Think i prefer walking. Only thing i noticed last time was that rotating resurant is it? Just take a few Photo's and find Evolution 2 is my priority. Yes see the Albert Docks and the Liver Building!! I'll have a Look at Visit Liverpool.com Tar. Theirs the Beatles Museum too isn't their?

    Hey Daive

Catch the bus that takes you around the major points of interest & you can hop off & hop on at your leisure. I hopped off with one of my boys at the Philharmonic (pub) & had to drag him out & back on the bus . .....

    Very informative too.

What Colour & Number is it? How much is it? IF you Hop off & on do you wait for the Next? Is it a Topless Tour Bus?

Davie there is all sorts mate but the revolving restaurant is now Radio city tower you can still go up on tours but i think you need to book in advance worth it though the view is spectacular you can see Howies house from up there!

If you want to go on foot and are starting from Lime street as you come out on the right hand side you have St Georges Hall, then to the right of that is the Museum of natural history which is great. You can follow the tourist signs and walk through the city from there which will lead you down to the docks along Victoria Street past the town hall and exchange flags which has "secret" underground military stations from ww2, although that's not always open. You will spill out on the docks by the three Graces then. That's just the tip of the iceberg mate but it will give you a start

Hope you enjoy and get some nice weather

Daive, you catch it down the road a bit from St George's Hall. Good place to start btw because it's unbelievably awesome. And not just because Everton & Liverpool have had their victory parades beginning &/or ending there. Absolutely gobsmacking inside.

Just ask at St George's Hall for further directions . I was born in Liverpool but I'm as clueless as you now......so long ago. But they gave me all the info I needed.

Wow, Liverpool City Centre seems Bigger & more 'populated than Birmingham? Got to Lime Street Station about 10.10am, Train only took 1hr 15mins from Wolverhampton. Took photo of the Ken Dodd Statue and spent 20mins in the WHSmith buying about 20 Postcards, The evertonian & echo. From 10.40am till 1.30pm think i was walking almost no-stop around the St. John's Mall then the Main Streets and round by the Liver Buildings, didn't realise they were THAT Big. Took quite a few photo's and saw the Tour Bus & Duck Vehicle 3 or 4 Times each during the day. Fancied the tour Bus (£7) but took me till 1.30pm to eventually find Evolution 2. Asked a Chap with Everton shirt on and he didn't even know (sounded VERY Irish chap). Saw the Paul McCarney pub, and Relax 80's Club? Spent £104 in the Everton Shop inc Tim Cahill dvd (typical)?, Season review dvd, Moves like Jagielka yellow t-shirt, Mug w name on etc
Saw the huge Screen in Square showing Olympic Torche 'Live' and the Huge Gymnastics Statues. Definately want to go again sometime. Was fairly Quiet at first, but buy 1pm was a SEA of people......i get VERY Overwhelmed being a Country Chap. Even Everton v Bayern Munich in April 1985 didn't overwhelm me as much as Liverpool City Centre 1pm - 3pm yesterday? :-S

If you want a good view and the tower is closed, Go to the Anglican Cathedral (Not paddys wigwam) You can go up to the roof there for a few quid and that has a spectauclar view aswell. I think it's about the same height as the radio city tower.
