I've gone for the same team but with Saha upfront when he's fit because he is a fantastic player when fit.

Agreed Himwill but with all the negativity around, isn't it great that we have potential competition for a few places now not just in Centre Mid which we appeared to have an abundance of.

I feel a lot more positive now than I did Sunday night after Arsenal got that mauling. Had a bad feeling that Wenger was coming to pillage our ranks with bids for Jags, bainesy, Arteta and even Timmy. Worse case scenario was that Wenger got the bullet and the phone call had've come in for Moyes.

Looking to a productive season now with God at the helm

My problem has been that so many people have been whining and moaning about us having no money so we can't bring in any players and that Arteta has been poor and just taking massive wages. We sell Arteta for 10 million and get him off the wage bill along with Yakubu and Beckford and bring in an unknown in Denis and a guy who has a real ability and could have real quality in Drenthe but as their loan signings people are saying its not good enough. IMO if you get them on loan then you commit less so if they dont come off it's not as big a deal plus Drenthe is a free agent in the summer so he could end up being a free signing.

The squad is still small but i imagine there's less pressure from the banks now that we're probably going to give them the transfer money from Becks and Yak as well as saving about 6.5 mill a year from Yak and Mikky's wages.

I think Osman is a ready made replacement for Arteta and will immediately fill his role with Fellaini pairing him in the centre!
    Coleman right, drenthe left.

Not a bad team to be fair.

No Billy is. In preseason looked very sharp not sure what happened? He look a lot better in the centre of midfield but defo need a tackler behind him

Our Squad don't look too bad at all. Just Hope these New guys are FIT & Sharp. Beckford was Good on his day, but most of the time looked like he wanted to be somewhere else?

No not osman to much work ethic.

I think Billy is the perfect replacment. Looks a lot better in the centre than wide and had a good start to the pre season just do not know what happened to him now? Just need a tackler behind him. Maybe Osman behind him and Fell in a def mid role behind him? with Drents wide left and Coleman wide Right (gueye till he gets back.

I prefer Billy in the Cahill role, just behind the striker.

I do like Billy but I don't think he has the stamina for PL, I see him as a super sub.

Nah sub is not good enough. He should be a reg. I really feel he will thrive and agree just behind the striker. Maybe stick Cahill up front again as Osman behind him will do him goo a real worker.

I have him as a central player me, Steven Gerrard type of player. I wouldn't want Moyes playing him on the wing and ruining the lad before he even gets going! Gueye on the other hand I had totally forgotten about!

I agree, for the price we played a sub is not good enough but I just think the PL is too fast for him and he doesn't have the stamina to last the full 90 mins. He has proven more effective as a super sub rather than starting and being hauled off because he's out of breath! Hopefully the coaches have managed to build on that stamina though in pre season, who knows.

PL is fast but just takes time to adjust which he really has not had. Not had a good run in the team since joining. Stamina will come with training but i.e. match fitness you need to play. It is the same problem. Arteta and Nuts did not start impacting till a few month in to there time. Fingers crossed for Billy.

    Stracqualursi

    Cahill

    Drenthe - Bilyaletdinov - Fellaini - Coleman

    Baines - Distin - Jagielka - Neville

    Howard

Give Bilyaletdinov a chance to be the play-maker.
I've started Barlkey on the bench because he young and inexperienced and it showed defensively against Blackburn
Started Stracqualursi because I think he'll play most of the games due to Saha injuries.

I like the look of that team like what i said in another thread only possible changes is Cahill up front with Billy behind him and Osman in the middle with Fell defensive mid. Not seen any thing of the new striker so would like him to come on as a sub.
