I'm guessing Arteta's transfer was more to do with the player.

Beckfords was more to do with the management.

i agree i think if we held on to him wed sell him later for 5 or 6 mill but we did a panic sell caus blue bill said so then arteta went late and it was too late to stop the beckford deal!!!!

    Mikel seemed ungrateful imo.

We build his career and we break our salary cap for him even though we helped him through some serious injuries and this is how he repays us. I think it shows a serious lack of respect!

Arteta gave us everything he had for over 6 years. I'm sad to see him go, but how in the hell can you guys honestly say that! Mikel has been an ambassador for this club, never complaining, never making excuses (even when it was easy to)- let alone the fact that he could have left awhile ago when his services were in higher demand. Mikey asked for the transfer only after he discovered Arsenal's interest. Mikky has a chance to end his career while playing at the highest level (UEFA), who wouldn't dream of that!??? I'm gutted that he's gone but I'm also glad, his departure ensures that Ross Barkley will basically start every match this year as long as he's in-form and healthy. With Arteta gone, Bainsey is now our designated FK taker no matter what!

I wish Arteta well and thank him for his services. Bit of a dagger in the back but I'm glad to be looking forward now.

Listen lads, the Arteta deal was not done last night, they have been working on something for the last week or so.
