Some people just live in their little worlds and dont see the bigger picture. Everton are trading and in business, be it not with millions or billions. BUT in business. How fickle some are. I for one am very proud and happy to be a blue. Yes things could be better, but go speak with Leeds/Southampton/Portsmouth fans and ask them how they feel. They would swap their position for ours anyday. And then say your a fool for taking being in the premiership for granted. Just look at other clubs. Clubs that have gone down, Be grateful we are nowhere near that!! And before you start saying yeah we are, we are on a sinking ship and all that $hit, remember, we have a good GK, Howard, World class left back, 3 great centre backs, a decent right back with Seamus to fill in when nevs done, And he will be class, Our midfield is looking good, Felli, Rodders have the potential to be amazing, Drenthe, Bily (if played in his proper position). Ossie, Magaye (who looks a great prospect) Barkley (this boy is gonna be class) and of course Cahill. Are strikers are a little threadbare, but when fit Saha is class, Anichebe is total $hit that I grant you, This new Argentine fella might be good, give him a chance!! We also have Vellios who looks good everytime I see him. And We also may see Baxter soon. I hope so anyway. We got into the champions league by winning 1-0 a lot. Got a feeling this is whats gonna happen again. But we finish 6th maybe 5th. Sinking ship my A$$!! Wake up smell the coffee, go speak to Leeds/Pompey and Southampton supporters to name a few!! And be grateful our great club are still in the best league in the world and still in business. Or the solution is, PI$$ off and support someone else!!

Sounds good man, glad you've been here and lived the blue life instead of random foreign supporters (no offence to any!)

I wanted to do that but my P.E teacher screwed me over at school so couldn't get into the proper courses cos of my GSCE's.

I figure most people who post on here are the most opinionated and not the most knowledgable. Some regulars are pretty spot on (to be fair to you guys with sense!) but some just ruin some posts and i don't even want to reply.

I'm from Scarborough on the East coast so god knows how i ended up supporting the blues, weird story!

Sure if i'd owned a car when my team chose me i would've chose someone closer. I get to around a game a season, but it's about £150 for a day out so rely on the net to see the games mainly. I don't want to ruin my record of going to Goodison 9 times and never seeing us lose!

Willows lad, i dont live far from scarboro, you should give me a shout if you ever fancy going the game, i would be on the way so you could hop in with me, keep it in mind mate :)

No, Kenwright is doing the right thing and paying the banks, so we dont get $crewed over by them!! The money is going to the banks. Well most of it anyway and im sure we will have a few bob for January. Remember the bank wanted us to stop trading and if that happened, well we would be in the worst situation we have ever been. So Kenwright (love him or hate him) is making sure we can keep trading and stay in business. I dont want our club to end up like Leeds/Portsmouth/Southampton and in the future maybe even Spurs! Neither does Kenwright and I do believe him on that. He is doing what He needs to do. YES I want a billionaire buyout!! Yes I want world class players in EVERY position. But come on, be realistic. We are not getting run into the ground. We are surviving. And when you look at our squad.......Its a good squad too. With some very good young talent coming through. Get behind the team lad. And the rest shall sort itself out. COYB!

I agree that people need to stop moaning.
Selling Arteta was a good decision. He has done well for us in the past but he hasnt been playing well for a long time now, and we need the money (yes for the bank).
10m and 75k a week off the wage bill..
They say we are losing 5m a year,, 80m in lat year 85m out. With Arteta, yak, beckford, pienaar, vaughan and we have reduced our wage bill a massive amount and taken a chunk off our debt. People may not like it now but if we dont start paying off the bank,
reducing our debt, how are we ever going to survive in the long term.

Yeh we want some players coming in too, but not at the expense of being even worse off financially, and making it harder to get out of debt in the future.
Better to sacrafice these few now, most of which were underperforming anyway (have you moaners actually been watching arteta for the last year??), and be better off for years to come.

Thanks guys. I sit and watch the Blueroom and never get involved. Just couldnt do it anymore with all the nonsense being put on here. I reckon if you got a point worth making, MAKE IT! But most of the points being made recently are unjust and not very sensible. Sadly football is a business these days, and so has to be run like a business. Like I keep saying, players come and go, but EVERTON FC remains. And thats all I care about. Our time WILL come. COYB!!

    My take on it.

Thank you Arteta and good luck with Arsenal. I think it is a good deal for both clubs. I think you will see an improved Arteta in Arsenal with Champions league and I think this gives us some funds for transfer in the future. I hope it will not all go to the bank and next summer we will hopefully have a 10m transfer fund where don't have to panic buy players. Hopefully we can get two solid 5m players with potential.

Yakubu, never liked as I think he was lazy. Glad that we took the loss on the transfer and save us on the weekly fee.

Beckford, didn't stay long enough to really become a Everton player. Good profit on a free transfer.

The only major downside to this transfer window was not bringing in a proven premier league goalscorer but with Arsenal coming in so late we were never going to be able to bring one in. Drenthe could prove to be a great signing though, he's 24, a very fast left winger which we needed and will be available for free at the end of the season so hopefully he performs and we can convince him to stay. Good to see some realism from blueskywalker and looking forward to what else he has to say!

He actually took a pay cut to go! But as has been said we've had the best from Mikky, and £10 Mill for a 29 year old is good money, he's not been the same since his injury.

Get real those of you moaning!! I dont know if you remember, but Kenwright (I sit on the fence with this dude) had to beg the banks so they did not cease us from trading!! Thats how bad our situation is!! Id rather let Arteta go, he is on way too much money anyway, we have made a huge profit on him, and lets be real here, he has been $hit for 18 months!! We have seen the best from Mikky and recently the worst!! He had to go! Wages and transfer fee, he has saved us by going. You may not see it that way, but its simple as that. We dont need him anyway. I thank little Mikky and wish him all the very best. He needs a change as do Everton! 75 thousand a week, PI$$ off!! Not worth half. Out of all the players we have that could of gone, Felli, Bainsy. Jags, Rodders, Arteta is the one I would of said bye bye to. Thank god the others are still around. Barkley will be twice the player Mikky was, mark my words chaps. And we got Drenthe, who to me is a brilliant signing. Fearless and one of the fastest plaers ive seen. He too needed a break. Remember when we first got Mikky, was not performing for Real Sociadad, then comes to Everton and becomes brilliant. Well Thats what will happen with Drenthe. Its got Moyes written all over it, saviour of players!! And as for the Argentinian, who knows!! Youtube him. He looks a handful. Could be a gem there. Glad the Yak has gone, Kinda glad Becks has too, no first touch and cant pass to save his life, and if your up front on your own, you need both. So, we lost 3 average players and cut the wage bill and brought in 2 possible great players, I for one cant wait to see Drenthe. Everything will be fine, you will see. BUT.....the main thing is EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB CAN CONTINUE TO TRADE AND CAN CONTINUE AS A BUSINESS!!! AND THAT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS ALL THAT FRIGGIN MATTERS!!! END OF STORY!! STOP YA MOANING!!! IMWT!! COYB!!

Have never agreed with someone more Blue Sky Walker, well maybe the wife :-)

You say get behind the team like we're not. I've supported Everton since I can remember (1984/85??). I am FIRMLY behind Moyes and the team but what I'm against is Kenwright ... I've got no problem with Arteta leaving, Yak leaving or Beckford leaving, in fact all good pieces of business IF the money was reinvested and not going on debt which during Kenwrights reign as Chairman has been allowed to mount up resulting in us not having a pot to pi$$ in. I'm not saying it's all Bill fault but he holds the purse strings and in my opinion there's only one man worse with large amounts of money than Bill ..... Gordon Brown! Where has the Rooney money gone, the Arteta money will go the same route to service bills that Billy boy has allowed to spiral out of control. We own 18 (what would be classed as) settled first team players, a fantastic youth prospect in the lad Barkley but with Bill debt, how long until he is sold along with Jacky Rodwell to Utd, Arsenal, Chelski or City! Kenwright needs to step aside and let Sir Phil take over the BUSINESS until a buyer is found ... IMWT!

Oh thats alright then...we should just accept that our club is being run into the ground...well done we can continue trading all the way to the conference...think it was a good deal to let him go for 10 million but with beckford going too and only replaced with loan signings...pretty much a disaster!

Ive supported Kenwright for years, but think he really needs to go...under him our club can only go one way and thats down!

I agree about Beckford, but it was Moyes he sold him, not BK.

How on earth has Everton Football Club got into it's current position. There are so many experts on here who have the answers to our problems we should have the best team, ground and business in the world. Arteta was highest paid at the club by virtue of being the best player at the club. Quite simple. If he doesn't want to play for the club then he has to go. Quite simple, but what sort of example is he to the likes of Ross Barkley who has been quoted saying Arteta and Tim Cahill are his 'heroes!' Disappointed at his lack of consideration in that respect but we got six and a half years out of one of the best players in the world never to get an international cap and why Arsenal and not home to Spain? The players will never be as faithful as the fans. If any of these 'experts' would be kind enough to put together a viable business plan that won't leave the club saddled with huge debt and languishing in the lower divisions in 5 - 10 years time, then I've no doubt BK will snap their hands off...... I'm not holding my breath! BK and DM have worked miracles and made personal sacrifices to ensure that our beloved Everton have not gone the way of Leeds, Portsmouth, Southampton and even Newcastle and the only people who should have any right to criticise them are those who are both able and just as importantly, prepared, to put themselves in their position. Again......I'm not holding my breath. We should all be grateful to have a Chairman and Manager who appear to care enough about the club not to sell it down the river to a Hicks, Gillette Glazer et al!! COYB.

" to service bills that Billy boy has allowed to spiral out of control."

turnover minus costs. its that simple.

the cost of running an epl club are huge compared to what they were when BK stepped in and saved EFC from possible oblivion. he knew he was buying a lemon financially. he stepped in out of necessity rather than desire. he is a victim of circumstances over which he has no control.

i believe that BK would love to be out of the hot seat. but he is stuck with it. many another would have walked away by now. just be grateful that we have a man at the top who cares about the club.

Decent post lad and i agree completely.

I said months ago that Mikel needed to be sold whilst he still has any real value and its been done.  In my opinion its just smart business by Everton ( this time ).

Now that Arteta and Yakubu are off the huge wage bill.... give Fellaini the contract he wants and lets get going.

From what ive seen of Drenthe, its all very good.  He was lots of pace, attacks players and its a fresh start for both him and Everton.
