How can anyone be disappointed with Arteta leaving? He has been **** for 18 months now, and he still gets £75,000 a week! We are now in £10M less debt and we have got rid of the overpaid Spaniard, and maybe we will be able to bring one or two in January now because that waste of space is off the wage bill.

Some people are reacting like we have sold Baines or Fellaini. We have sold a player who is injury prone clearly past his best and way overpaid! I am actually happy with the Everton board because they have done very well to get £10M for him!

    So this is everton then

Have to bring in 15 million plus quid to fund 2 loan deals

Barrymores prediction: Everton will be relegated within 3 seasons

great bit of business mate, hopefully the moeny we save in wages, paying some debt off etc will put is in a batter position next summer, every club has to consolidate at soempoint and this season we will have to do that :)

I agree that it is not ideal but I would rather have less debt, a reduced wage bill, a striker and a midfielder.

On the face of it not bad business - but what happens at the end of this season and the two loans go elsewhere ? Who goes next year? Felliani? Baines? Rodwell? Barkley?

I agree. Didn't have a prob with selling him....just the timing. Shoulda been sooner. Only £10M? Coulda done a little better maybe.

squad needed freshening up. The team and fans relied and expected too much of arteta and he rarely delivered. At least Moyes will have to try and change the tactics etc now! £10million for a player who hasnt performed well for 3 years is a good deal and the club will go on without him. Looking forward to seeing Drenthe as he will give us some much needed pace down the left......unless moyes is considering playing him in the middle!

If the cash goes to pay off debt then that will be fine by me. I want Kenwright out as well mate, but I see this as being the best thing for EFC.

maybe but probably moyes will play heitinga/felli/cahill in the middle, with osman/coleman/barkley vying for the right spot and bily/drenthe/anichebe vying for the left
