Posts: 44August 2011 If the sales of Arteta and Yakubu go through tonight, I for one will be happy.£10,000,000 for a 30 year old midfielder, who hasn't been the same player for at least 18 months£1.500,000 for a Striker who wasn't in first team plans.£4.500,000 for a player we got on a free transfer 12 months ago.£15,000,000+ to the Bank£125,000 a week saved on wages at least.This is good business. Debts reduced, wages reduced, we look a better prospect to investors.Even if we don't get Drenthe and Denis S, I will still be happy. The Club is better off fiancially.

its not just arteta, we have the smallest squad in the league, what are we gonna do with a few injuries and vic as our only striker? -

Posts: 1,094August 2011 IMO, any way that this pans out, I doubt we will drop more than one place. Arteta did nothing last season, Yak barely played and only Beckford's goals will be missed..
We may still get that other lad from Argy in which case we may well be improved in that area anyway.
Only thing that changes is that we have no choice but to play a stronger midfield and stop carrying Mikky. Its harsh to say but its reality, he has been a very very average player since his injury.
