Hope you're all enjoying your long weekend & your street parties & God save the Queen and all that.....

We also have a long weekend here & I'm sick of shopping for kittens & handbags with my LESBIAN friends .....and now I'm indulging in my other passion - ironing. No cooking I meant to say.

And even if I say so myself I'm not half bad at it.

So - what I'd like to know is (and since the majority of great chefs are male) - can you cook? And if you can, do you dazzle your significant others with your offerings? Can your significant other dazzle you with their (culinary!) offerings?

And, if I waltzed (Aussie joke there) into your kitchen in my pinny, what would you want me to rustle up?

    And BEG you too.......

My 3 best dishes, a 1kg Rib Steak, on the bone, served black and blue with chips fried in duck fat. Nothing else, just perfectly seasoned steak.

Roast Turbot with Hollandaise sauce, Samphire and Potato Fondant

Boned out leg of lamb, marinated in olive oil, paprika, rosemary, garlic, oregano, pepper and sea salt for 24 hours then cooked on a grill. served pink with Dauphinoise spuds and a lamb and mint gravy over the meat.

I love food, its nothing special or difficult. I spend too much money on food, don't buy alcohol very often though so probably no more than most people. I'm also lucky to have fantastic butchers and fishmonger down the road. Booths supermarket too, you can shove Waitrose and M&S.

I make this great dish. You have some dry noodles and soya meat with powdered seasoning in .....let's call it a pot.

You add hot water and soy sauce and wait 2 minutes

    Bon appetite.

    Cordon bleu.

You are indeed lucky to have a local butcher & fishmonger. Few & far between here even with the abundance of great meat & fish. The supermarkets are killing them all off, as I'm sure is the case there. Never heard of Booths......but Sainsburys is 100 times better than any supermarket here...
