Surely if these Saudi's are so loaded, they can offer us about £50 Million for him! :D

this would be the best deal ever. even if they would only give 5 million that would be a blessing.

dont be so silly, only 5M for cahill. i would only sell if the money was right and I'd be looking at 9-12 M, there are not many midfield players as good as him and not many with the goal scoring record he has.

9-12m is never going to happen, deco cost chelsea 8m a few years back so i would 6.5 at most but accept 5m. As long as it leaves us with enough to sign nuts and another Cm ( hoping theres money from the board)

If the board don't give funds then it's ridiculous. Anyway, i'd take 5-7 for him, but if this rumour is true, they would probably be willing to pay more.

the boy has been a sensation but the time is right for him to move on.

we need some younger players who are still hungry

They want an exciting signing, not someone who is going to cost a couple of million. For that reason alone I think they'll pay more. They probably have no idea how much he is worth lol...

don't get it myself.....after talking about how rich these people are, and how they would give Cahill a massive contract, it goes on to say they'd be hoping to get Cahill for no transfer fee......why would Everton just let Tim go for free?.....Give us your f*cking money!!

Well the Arabs love to haggle over the price of everything despite their wealth. It's in their DNA. I'd start at $8 million. Settle in the middle or thereabouts. They like to think they've got a bargain. He also represents status to them, he's a big name.

Tim should milk it, especially at this stage of his career. He would be a superstar over there.

So much for the Cahill free zone - good job Howie is not online this week!

who would we get in for the money we would get for cahill not a lot of people hes 33 this year be lucky to get 2 million  no reason for him to leave I believe hes got a couple more seasons in him to offer us something from off the bench could be a good sub to use in games an adds depth an experience to the team

"The Australian is wanted by the Riyadh-based club and they will offer massive money because of his name, reputation and being an ‘Asian’ player in their league."

How big is massive? I don't think 8 million is impossible as he is one of the best asian players out there.

I don't understand the last paragraph.

"Al Nassr may pay a transfer fee but will hope to get Cahill for nothing and give him some of their millions to tempt him to quit Merseyside."

Sounds like it is written by a school boy just out of his Play Station.

getting him off the wage bill is a big part of it. it's one out-one in, in terms of transfer fee and wages. cahill's wages will be paid into peanuts account instead!
he has been a great servant to the club, and definitely Moyes best signing in my mind. remember that stint he had on his own up front when we had a lot of injuries and he was an absolute hero. but it's time for a change I think.
