    Hello, all!

My name is Chris, and I hail from the tiny hamlet of Mariposa, California, near Yosemite National Park.  I just signed up for satellite TV service about a year ago, and our provider covers the EPL.  I wasn't really familiar with any of the teams at the time, other than knowing some of their names and having a vague idea of who some of the top teams were.  Gradually I began to form opinions about which teams I liked or didn't like, and, after about half a season of viewing, I settled on Everton as my favorite.  What attracted me to the team was their verve, team cohesion, and the sense of really trying to make something special without having the luxury of an endless supply of cash, like certain other unmentionable Merseyside teams have (ahem).  I am now hooked on the Blues!  Having played striker in my younger days, I am thrilled about the recent run of scoring since the arrival of Jelavic, and I hope that will continue into the next season.  Perhaps some shiny new hardware is in the offing?

    Warm regards,
    Chris

    Welcome young American

We have a few other Americans on here so hopefully you will feel right at home and settle in.

I concur with the excitement brought by Jelavic and if his scoring can continue next season then silverware could be a possibility.

Welcome, dude. Nice choice, man. Actually an excellent choice!
I did the same thing, it turn out to be an even greater team ain't it? Greetings from Nuuk, Greenland. My family might go to Rhodes Island this summer, visiting my cousin. Alrite, pace.

I should mention that falling in love with the Toffees was made easier due to the fact that they received more than the usual air time, thanks to Landon Donovan's loan stint and the team's excellent FA Cup run.  They were therefore a much higher-profile team than most of the other mid-table teams. Oh,well!

I think this is a good way of gauging how popular a team is, by someone who doesn't have much knowledge of our league and teams watching and reading up on each team and picking one. Much better than 'oh well they seem to win everything so I'll go for them'. Welcome to the BR Chris.
