My 9yr old cousin was recently approached by a Liverpool scout at a football match and may be gertting a trial with them in near future. The lad's already had a trial with Everton but didnt go back cuz it's us and goes to see Crewe tomorrow. I know its a long shot but say the kid did ever manage to break through in there squad, should I go watch him and cheer or still wish they lose. Bare in mind i've spent countless hours playing footy and looking after the kid.

Are the 2 things mutually exclusive?
Can't you hope and pray he scores a hat trick every game - but hope they always lose 4-3!

I'd support him every inch of the way. Doesn't pay to mess with kids' minds. They will eventually do what they want to do in any case.

I'd just hope that he makes a success of his football career, wherever it may be. But on the other hand if he ends up playing for THEM then I hope he's crap :)

Support him fully mate, family first.

i wouldn't build yours or his hopes up see how his development goes av got mates who have been at teams for years then when it comes to contracts an money get released an if he is good enough the big decision for him comes at about the age of 15 does he get his head down stay fit an work hard or does he have enough of football an get in with the wrong friends and interest in girls start missing training sessions etc did it myself with rugby
