Probably, but there's no harm in trying to educate others. If we can teach a dog to sit and not p.iss in the house then I can at least attempt to expand his musical taste.

With a haircut like yours I seriously doubt anybody will ever take you seriously. Except the Worzel Gummidge lookalike club.

New Chilis album, yes I would. Despite the fact that John Frusciante is no longer part of the band, it's still a quality album.

I got the new Red Hot Chili Peppers "I'm With You" cd yesterday and I've been listening to it ever since. I still haven't made up my mind yet on how I like it. It has a different feel to it with a new lead guitar player...

Ah, I didn't see this comment haha. I like it, it's got promise. I shall listen to it again at some point soon to make sure I do definitely still like it.

EDIT: WTF is wrong with the quoting tool?!

It is a good album if not compared to the stuff they did with John Frusciante. Admittedly, it is difficult for me to listen to the new album because I am such a huge fan of John. (I have many of his solo albums and they are worth listening to if you haven't already) Perhaps the new stuff will grow on me and I will like it more in time.

Love the fact that just because of my hair I can't be taken seriously. Pretty sure i've dont enough so far to warrant a daft haircut...btw it has since changed.

I'll try and listen to some of his solo stuff, haven't heard any of it.....

the Carter IV - and if you like rap it's descent, and worth the $10 price tag.

That's too bad about Frusciante, I honestly had no idea he had left.... I have his solo **** and you'll have to look rather deeply to find his amazing stuff, but it's out there. I can give some recs on Frusciante's solo stuff considering I have them (help you save time).

It's good Andy, different, but good.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to take listening to the Peppers from here on out. I heard a little bit of a concert that aired over here a couple days ago. It was fine while they were playing the new stuff, but as soon as they started playing the old stuff with a new guitar player I felt ill and my heart broke...it just isn't the same.
    =(( :(

Do you have a favorite John Frusciante album Irony?

I would have to say mine are...'Empyrean' and 'Shadows Collide With People'.

I've never even heard of 'Empyrean' but I'll definitely check it out, thanks. I do enjoy 'Shadows...', in my opinion it's his most refined solo album- great flow and by the far the best sound quality.

The majority of his songs that I own are acoustic versions or online releases. I don't know if I have a favorite album however, his stuff can be really out there sometimes, combine that with his distinct vocals and more so than not your left with a very weird song. But that's what also makes him great, that and his unbelievable ability to pluck the guitar (electric or acoustic) like it's never been plucked before... He's a helluva composer as well,  Songs like "Ramparts", "Forever Young", and "Falling" are great examples. I can give you my favorite songs from what I've got, the three I've just mentioned are by far my favorites.

    The Brown Bunny Soundtrack
    -Forever Young *****
    -Falling ****
    -Prostitution Song ***

Online Releases or just don't know album
    -Three Thoughts (acoustic) ****
    -Cut Out (acoustic) ****
    -Omission (acoustic) ***
    -Water (acoustic) ***

    Shadows
    -Everyperson ***
    -Cut Out ***
    -In Relief ***
    -Omission ***

To Record Water for Only Ten Days
    -Ramparts *****
    -Murderers ****
    -Fallout ***

    The Will to Death
    -A Doubt ***
    -Days Have Turned ***
    -The Will to Death ****

Empyrean came out in 2009 and I believe is his most recent. The songs 'Dark/Light', 'One More Of Me', 'Unreachable' and 'Central' being 4 of my favorites although, I have listened to it over and over again and never get tired of it. This particular album made had profound affect on me and got me through a rough patch in my life. It is a really good cd, I can't recommend it enough. Yes I agree, he writes deep and meaningful lyrics and is a masterful guitar player. He is like no other.

'Shadows is an awesome album! I would have to say that 'Ricky', 'Carvel' and  '23 go in to end' are among my favorites.

Thanks for the song suggestions. I haven't listened all the ones you listed, I am going to have to check them out asap!
