What about the Straq?

Is it just me or does it seem that Moyes doesn't fancy the big guy in the long term. After some man of the match performances and a player of the month award he's lost his place to Jelavic (who admittedly has made a big impact) but also finds himself behind an out of form Cahill and Anichebe in the striking pecking order.

So what do you say? Should we buy the Straq or not?

he is a hard worker, but thats where it ends, lacks quality in front of goal and isnt good enough at this level.  his hard work rate papers over everything that is wrong with him, he would be cheap but even at 2m he is too expensive for us.

dont think its worthwhile having both straq and cahill in the squad

Don't get me wrong, I love Cahill, but what's he done lately?
I'd like to see Straq paired with Jelavic and see how they play upfront together.

Cahill's time is surely up now. Lots of fond memories but it's time to move on.

Why move on ? We need a squad, and as an impact player he would be valuable......

Simply because he isn't offering anything, and it is immaterial if he comes on as a sub if he still provides nothing.

I understand what you are saying though Howie - and it's not like we'd get much for him if we sold him. But we'd save on his wages at least, maybe that would help us to go for a relative unknown, pretty much what Cahill was when we got him from Millwall.

hard work is no good if it doesnt produce results. the straq just isnt good enough.

same goes for cahill, velios, coleman and anichebe.

maybe we can get something for them from a championship side.

agree knoxy to a point but i think in the last few weeks i ve seen a bit in cahill  playing behind jelavic to convince me he could produce some of his form what hes showed over the years next season but agree velios coleman an vic aren't good enough think velios could do with more of a chance but we cant afford to sample a bit of this player up top an then someone else an someone else its cost us so much finally look like we have a forward who has a bit of everything up top just need another forward in next season for back up who can score incase of injurys an for rotation
