Todays line up predictions... and result.....(RTFOP)

We know a little more now....obviously Pienaar is cup tied and now Drenthe is out for another match on 'compassionate leave' which is in all honestly our two best wide players.

That said I'm not too distressed about Drenthe as this is a game for committed Everton players. A game where tracking back, where last ditch tackles are required and losing the ball in your own half in a dangerous situation is not at all on this evenings menu.

But what of tonight's line up, what effect with this have on Moyes's selection. Will he wheel out the Bale ruining Neville and Hibbert partnership down the right for McClean. Will Coleman be fit? Gibson, on reflection, was probably brought back into the line up last match to ensure he was fit for this one.

So, without predicting what you'd want/like us to field, predict the starting 11 you think Moyes will put out tonight.

The result, inside normal time or pens.

    And the score.

    ..................Howard
    Hibbert Heitinga Distan Baines

    Neville Gibson Fellaini Osman
    ..............Cahill
    ......................Jelavic

    Bench (optional extra)

    Mucha
    Jageilka
    Gueye
    Coleman
    Denis
    Victor
    McFadden

I think Moyes will have attacking options wide and a selection of strikers on the bench. A quality central defender and cover in holding midfield in Jagielka with Heitinga moving up if needed. Sunderland are at home and the onus is on them. I think Moyes will look to start out solidly, but retain the ability to change things on the bench.

Result: Everton win inside normal time

    Score: 1 - 2  (Jelavic, Gibson)

Can't have Neville out wide so i can see big vic filling the wide right/left slot purely for added height and strength against mclean.
nev at RB other than that i concur.

As this is what Moyes is likely to go for, not what i want... assuming Coleman is injured i think he will go big Vic down the right with Neville in centre for Gibson, Gibson coming on late when Nevs run his heart out.

    ..................Howard
    Hibbert Heitinga Distan Baines

    Anichibe Neville Fellaini Osman
    ..............Cahill
    ......................Jelavic

    Subs
    Mucha
    Jagielka
    Gibson
    Gueye
    Coleman
    Denis
    Faddy

    Score 1-2 (Cahill and Jelavic)

Its a good suggestion.....can I trouble you to actually type it up and post it for the purposes of this thread (I'll say thank you and everything, promise!). Maybe add a predicted result, inside normal time or pens....and, who knows, even a score line?

Are you sure though, I agree on grounds of strength but not sure about big vic and pace. I thought that was why Moyes went with Neville and Hibbert with Bale. Neville for his nouse and positioning, and Hibbet to mop up pace should Bale go around the outside of Neville.

if coleman isn't fit enough....then i'd agree with your team TC.....

i think Sunderland are very dangerous down their left with McClean...so i think Moyes will play 2 of our 3 right backs on that side.....Neville is too slow, so i'd rather it was Hibbert & Coleman, but Moyes likes playing Neville in the big games....

As for anichebe....no way should he be starting tonight......and no way is he disciplined enough to play right midfield tonight.....

Drenthe's loss is a big blow to be honest....in a game like this, when we'll look to defend and counter attack, we really could have done with his pace (particularily if coleman misses out too)

what i wouldn't give to have Pienaar and Donovan in the team tonight!!!......

hahaha.... yes, yes you did. Although milky just agreed with me on everything except Victor Anichebe. Which, in all fairness, just makes me feel wrong and more than a little dirty.

Just to clarify. In this thread, predict:

    1) tonights line up (subs are an optional extra)

    2) The result, be it via extra time, pens or inside the regulation 90

    3) The score

This is especially for you TC :)

             Howard
    Hibbert Heitinga Distin Baines
          Gibson Fellaini

    Osman                  Gueye
                Cahill
                        Jelvaic

Subs: Neville, Jags, Straq, Mucha, Coleman, faddy.

I think 1-1 at fulltime. It'll go to pens and we will win 4-2.

    Well in Sambo!

Thats a pretty unusual starting midfield for Moyes although I do like Gueye and hope he'll be a big player for us next season.

    Just the six subs?

A few players will have fitness tests before this match so we may have one or two out injured.
