The attendance for last nights game was 17,173.

Much less than half the ground was filled.

I bet the club haven't sold many season tickets this season.

Dismal, but people are voting with their feet while others suggest the answer is subsidising the owners of the club by making further weekly/monthly payments to help the club out...

    You couldn't make it up..

It happens, I remember in 1982 and 1983 we played Newport County in the league cup and had less than 9000 and then in the 3rd round replay of the FA cup had about 18,000. I must admit though that GP at night with the ground half full is a weird place to be.......

do you think this was because of the qpr result or the general situation?

You could feel the place was empty, when you watched the highlights on telly.

no people expect us to lose the firs 4 or 5 games now.
With the way we are playing, people have work hard for there money.
Good evertonians do not like crap matches.

Goodison only feels right when it's packed.........I remember as a kid being taken to the matches by my dad during 1962 and we had 69,000 for ManU, 72,000 for the RS, 60+ For Spurs and Wolves but only between 45-50,000 for the crap. The crowds were always up and down. In fact they are far more consistent now than they ever were, lower but consistent..........

Yeah just a young lad, you are right though anything less than about 55000 was a poor turnout. Of course these were the days when a game against ManU had a bigger attendance than the replay at OT.....times change and they will change again ( I hope)

More likely because it was a Carling Cup match which is a tournament that we're usually shocking so people arn't going to part with the cash. It's the same with most Prem teams I'd imagine.

The early rounds of the League Cup has always had poor attendence's, suprising really as Price's are lowered??

Look at the other Premier League teams who played at home

    Blackburn had 8,600
    Bolton had 6,800
    QPR had 4,750
    Norwich had 13,000
    Aston Villa had 21,000

Point: Not many people care about round 2 of the Carling Cup against lower league opposition!

But those clubs have always had those attendances.

in the second round last season we had 28,901 when we played huddersfield.
Seeing as the board dont want to Look into other avenues we can make money, the fa cup and the carling cup are the main ones.

That Huddersfield game was the first Carling Cup game at Goodison since the semi final in 2007/8 though! That is in no way the norm for a second round game against 3rd tier opposition!

Bolton will have 25,000 for most PL/FA Cup games.
    Norwich similar
    QPR 15,000
    Aston Villa 35,000 +
    Blackburn 20,000+

Aston Villa have always had 21,000???

    Soft lad!!

Im pleased to say i was there. Need to ask though, how many of you who have posted here went, as some of you are saying you can see on telly it was poor, and some qouting old games etc. If you were a STholder you could get in for £13, or £16 otherwise. I cant quite understand what your trying to say, as it was cheap, so why not go? Are you supporters, league only supporters, just the big cup game fans, guess if you didnt go; you'll still be wanting a final ticket if we get there, and complain about the ticket allocation, even though that would be a lot higher than the attendance against Sheff Utd............... :-?
