Moyes' Tactics

It is interesting to see the change in 2012 but for some reason we keep seeing him drop back into them. The boys were excellent yesterday and the only maybe Cahill was the question mark on selection. We have now beaten City, Chelsea and Spurs but the problem is we only drew to Wigan and QPR.

If you look at the difference in the selections it was neville out of centre midfield and Osman into it. The one common thread in most the blogs is that Neville should never play CM. Hopefully this has proved this point. Also why are we more defensive against the lower teams even if it is away.

Credit to Moyes and after some dodgy games at the beginning of the season he has got us playing well again.

It is great to enjoy watching them again and not only getting results but creating chances.

well if you look AT a lot of teams performances vs so called lower teams then you will see its not just us who have struggled, theres no easy games in the prem now.

After watching the game yesterday, I've come to the conclusion that Neville should never play again, period. The amount of times we looked to attack and then passed to him and then he passed it backwards was infuriating. He used to offer something but now I don't think he does. I felt he and Coleman should have been subbed, but having said that, apart from the first substitution, Moyes got it right yesterday. However, it could also be argued that Moyes is keeping his best players fresh for Tuesday and Saturday, in which case, again, he got things exactly right yesterday so well done to the gaffer with his tactics.

I was one of many who was beginning to doubt him after a couple of months into the season, but I think now we've been able to get a couple of players in, he can mix it up a bit, and it's not as infuriating when he only goes one up front now.

Agreed but my point was the different tacitics we use. If we had Ossie (or another midfielder that goes forward and can pass) instead of Neville on the park against QPR we would have created more and controlled the middle of the park better(IMO).

There has definitely been an improvement in our selection and tactics recently which Moyes deserves credit for. 2012 we have looked good and we have proved that we do have some quality players at the club. Also some of the football in the first half was quality and we controlled possession well.

Spot on. Thought Ossie was our MOTM in the ressies derby, and was close to it yesterday, played really well.

I think we all agree Neville is not a DM but to be fair I have no problem with him at right back. We do need to fill this position in the summer but I think it would be interesting to see if we could get Coleman to adapt. With his pace and Baines on the left with Drenthe and Pineer in front we would create a lot more and better service to the strikers.

consistency is the hardest thing to achieve in a team sport. its no accident that the top teams are also the most consistent.

    I hate to say it.

His tatics only work when. Were half way through a season, we have a lot of injuries, the bank are calling in debts and everyone has there backs to the wall.

We need to play with a high tempo and close down from first second to last. All the great matches from the last 10 years show this., When we don't we do not do well at all.
