With all of Evertons financial dirty laundry being washed in public over the last week I worry that we will some day cease to exist and the UEFA Financial fair play rules dont offer any hope.

I'm just putting my interpretation here and hope that someone can point out the FAIR bit to me.

With the introduction of so called “Financial fair play” rules UEFA is locking the door to other teams following the Man City and Chelsea Model. Fair enough you'd think as football is going financially crazy at the moment which may be sustainable or not only time will tell.

However shouldn’t UEFA also be trying to rein these teams in to some degree and bring them back to a level where teams with lower revenue streams can compete at some stage in the future. Otherwise the death of national leagues is only a short distance away as the richest (not biggest or most famous) start to think of a breakaway league in which to maximise and protect their revenue streams.

As far as I can see Financial fair play means the big clubs stay big (unless they have some sort of financial collapse) and the small clubs stay small and unfortunately Everton fall into the latter category these days.

Anyone trying to play catch up with a cash injection they will need to pay ridiculous wages to convince players to forego European football for a few seasons while the revenue stream is brought in line with expenses if that is even possible.

Doesn’t financial fair play mean fair play for everyone or does it just mean fair play to those who can afford it.

    Where does it leave everton?

im sure the fifa fair play thing says that your wage bill shouldn't be more than 64%ish of your income. ours is actually around that figure.

city will get round it because the owner has a separate company that will be one of the clubs sponsors, bringing in around 400m a year. i cant see how that's even legal but whatever. it seems the clubs with all the cash will find ways round it, just as the clubs with no cash will work round it

instead of looking and hping for a billionaire, we need the fans to dig deep and make ever game a sell out, and make every strip winner, that's the best way of increasing revenue.

Now, why would we want to do that? It takes time, money and effort!

Doesnt really help you compete when all these teams are financially much better off

Arsenal are selling out a 60,000 seater at £100 a pop each week and getting CL money and are also owned by a wealthy businessman or two

No point in comparing to united who are in a different league in terms of revenue regardless of glazers debt

City. There's enough said about them and their money without me needing to add to it again

Liverpool. seem to have a queue of owners waiting to take over. (despite the fact that they too need a new stadium so there goes that reason as to why we havent attracted any money)

Chelski. Rich owner and vastly improved rev stream. Dont even seem too bothered about increasing stadium capacity

Spurs. Lots of money and trying to build new stadium.

    Villa. Rich owner

QPR. One billionaire selling to another (By any chance is ecclestone a scouser)

Norwich. Great half time food. Ta delia :)

I cant think of any more but you can prob add leicester to that list soon enough.

Selling out goodison and fans buying a jersey a week isnt going to catch us up there

Howdy, Stranger!
