Looking Ahead to Blackburn

Not getting too carried away with last night - this day last year we had 1 league point from 2 games we thought we would get at least 4 from, thumped Hudderfield 5-1 in the Carling Cup, thought it would start some momentum, and then lost at Villa on the Saturday!

    But....maybe this time!!!

Blackburn will see it the same way though after their 3-1 win against the other Sheffield gang last night (some shocking goals Wednesday conceeded there).

    So Saturday, who's to start?
The back 4 picks itself despite Jagielka's shakyness.
But, will Beckford or Cahill be back?
Surely Arteta and Fellaini will start this time with their match fitness improving from the last 2 games?
Likewise Saha will surely come on for a bit longer too - although he must be due a muscle strain any hour now!
Bily's suspension is finished (I think?). Can he play a part?
Who to play on the right?

Depending on who's fit, I expect the team to look somethig like....

    ..................Howard
    Neville....Jagielka....Distin....Baines
    Rod/Osman....Fellaini....Barkley.....Arteta
    ............Cahill/Osman
    .......................Beckford/Anichebe

Saha to come on for half an hour!

Yeah I'm not sure either but IMO Moyes will play him in the first few easy games (well, QPR was SUPPOSED to be easy anyway), and then you'll see him benched or "rested" when the high profile run against Man City, RS, Chelsea, Maure starts in a months time. I think!

strange i see some have hietenga to play one selection has maybe rodwell on right was problem last week players out of position, heitengas shoite in centre, and rodwells not a right sided player, ffs just play people in there proper positions, maybe rodders/ felli in centre arteta left, barkley right or osman , play barkley behind the striker, think anichebe will play, i dont just wanna pick hard players because there a physical team. pick best 11 available in there right positions and go from there

You say just play everyone in their proper position - and then recommend that Arteta play left and Barkely or Osman right - none of these 3 players specialize in those positions.

We have no right winger at the club.
Bily is the only left winger we have at the club (and even he would probably be better in the hole)

oh come on artetas played wide midfield for years and only decent game he had last season was wide, osmans been playing wide for years (rodwell is not even close to being a wide player) and barkley im pretty sure is good enough to play anywere, be better than having heitenga in centre mid, your just being picky, it didnt work with rodweel wide and hietenga in centre people slated moyes for that selection yet people still say play them there,

Basically ANY decent player should be able to float over a decent cross.

Arteta played wide RIGHT and central midfield for years! Not wide left!

I never said I want Rodwell to play anywhere. I've said what I think the team WILL be. Not what I think it SHOULD be!

    -----------------Howard
    Neville--Jagielka--Distin--Baines
    ----------Rodwell-----Fellaini
    Barkley----- Osman------Arteta
    -----------------Saha

    Bench
    Mucha
    Hibbert
    Heitinga
    Cahill
    Anichebe
    Beckford
    Baxter

I'd give Barkley Ossie and Arteta the freedom to interchange as needed. We looked to have extra creativity with the 3 of them on the pitch last night. Some of Barkley's movement is fantastic for someone so young, and he looks like he could play behind a striker in the future (needs a bit more shooting practice though). Cahill can come on if we're chasing the game.

I think we certainly need Fellaini and Heitinga in the team for their height and approach to the game, i left ewood park last year with a sore neck becasue alls they do is hoof it up in the air, so with that in mind we need some one who can win it inthe air when needed (Fellani/Jags and co) BUT most importantly we need to stick to our game plan and keep the ball moving through the likes of Barkley/Baines and Arteta... All being well we have a team more than capable of beating Blackburn

still being picky artetas best game was left mid last season, he can play either side as i said rodwell isnt a wide player only point im making and heitengas not a centre mid.
