Reserves derby

Just watched the reserves and to be fair it was our 1st team against a bunch of nobodys. We got pulled all over the park and 2nd best in every area. Rodwell looked like a pub league player, our defence was getting tore to shreds even though we had Jagielka playing. Barkley was awful. The only half decent performance was that of Osman but even then it is the least u would expect playing in the reserves. Every1 of them, Jagielka, Coleman, Anichebe, Rodwell, Barkley can stay in the reserves for now. Osman can take up a place on the 1st team bench. Mcfadden can **** off back to scotland. With the team we fielded it was Mucha who got man of the match WTF....... Also them two excuses we have as full backs shud just get released. We all slate hibbo and neville. I can see now why they play so much at right back cus there is no way u wud trust either of them full backs in reserves........It is very worrying times when the so called future Everton midfield (Rodwell, Barkley) got made mugs of by liverpool reserves.

Murray, you sound just like Briatore in that QPR film so i'm glad you have no power at this club. 4 players just back from injury so they're going to be off the pace and some young kids who will be up and down in terms of consistency. Don't forget that the reserves have been a lot better this year compared to previous years and they put 6 past Newcastle a couple weeks ago.

Well they're playing at reserve level.. Which clearly aint the best... The only way any of the younger players will gain real experience. Is if they go on loan and experience relegation dog fights or promotion chasing teams in the lower leagues or perhaps abroad. Kyle Naughton got sent out on loan a couple of times and is now a first team regular for a team who could potentially challenge for a title in Tottenham. Its good to see players like Forshaw and Garbutt etc. On loan as they'll gain the experience they need to be enrolled into our team. Remember Shane Duffy is a reserve team player and after his loan spell at Scunthorp did so well in the games he was called up into the first team

well said, completely agree with this. it wasnt about performance in this match, it was about getting players some time on the pitch, a slight step up from training, they dont want to be charging around injuring themselves as soon as theyve made their come back. it would have been nice to have seen us d!ck them 4 or 5 nil as you would expect with that team on paper fully fit but they're only just coming back from long term injuries!

as for the fullbacks - i dont understand the lack of support - they might well not be good enough to make it to the first team yet but theyre most likely on the pitch due to the number of players we have out on loan that would normally be getting reserve team action. Slating them isnt going to help, we're meant to be supporters.

I can understand negative reaction to things that are somebodys fault, but im sure the youngsters are trying their best just finding it a difficult step up from under 18's football for the moment.
