racism in sport

    there has been a lot of talk about racism in football lately and quite rightly so......and this got me thinking of other sports, horse racing in particular is this sport rife with racism, how many black jockeys are there, trainers, stable hands etc I might be wrong but ive never heard of any, whats the reason behind this

    A bit off the topic, thinking of past times, have you seen the rugby movie with Morgan Freeman playing Mandela it's a nice one, some to do with racism.
    And "Glory road" was it? the basketball movie is nice as well, first successful black players in 60s or earlier?

    there's a few sports like so.......swimming, golf, darts, snooker......my guess its a combination of geography, money or black people's lack of interest........don't think racism is a factor.......not that racism is reserved for particular sports, its just not an issue with some because of the lack of black people involved......

    In fairness Kenyians would have a decent build for being a jokey.....but then, they are so good at running that I doubt they bother much with horses. And then there is the exorbitant cost of upkeep, and in that climate too....

    There is black jockeys, not many but there is some, and most of the big owners on the flat are arabs with millions and millions at there disposal.

    you look at any sport or industry and there's probably a minority group of some sort you could identify...

    does this make every walk of life racist !!! PHHHT !!

    Theres a good reason why there are no black people involved with showjumping, I can't state it though, even though its true because it would get me banned. Someone who knows nothing about it will get their little PC hat on that they wear because it makes them cool at the student union bar and report me. Either that or Jayees alarm hat will go off and he'll do it.

    i dont really get this racist issue these days in sport, who cares what colour skin you may or may not have? people with dark skin have done just as well in sport and life as that of white people..if not better!!!
