I predict a drop when Landon Donovan goes back watched it yesterday on Setanta and the balance of the side will one sided again when he leaves and we'll get bummed by the racist murderers at KKK stadium

Agree with this, given how many assists LD has had however Denthe has the most assists this season so reckon he can do a job on the right for us. It would be good if we could get an attacking right back with the quality of Baines to work with Drenthe on the right....

Sorry should have been clearer, mine was in response to us needing an attacking right back! id give drenthe a run at right mid and Osman in for Gibson who im hoping will come good but hes not just going missing in games, hes giving the ball away a lot... could be whilst he just gets used to knowing what sort of runs our players make and building an understanding but i do worry Moyes might not drop Gibson on the basis we brought him in probably with the promise of game time to give him a chance of getting into Ireland's euro team. almost feels like Moyes is intimidated to drop Gibson, like he's done us a favour dropping down from Man utd to Everton.

My error for not reading the whole thread mate!

I was thinking when Donovan goes, in theory we have an abundance of players that can play right side, Drenthe, Osman, Colman etc.

I do agree though coleman would be a decent attacking FB. dont think his delivery would be a patch on Baines though!

I'll give Gibson time to settle in before making a judgement. It can take 6 months for a player to really settle in and get used to the players around him. So he can come good when he gets used to our style of play etc. :)

Hibbert has been rock solid this season, and put in some top-class crosses. Let's see what he can do with Drenthe (assuming Drenthe will replace Donovan at right mid).

Donovan will wish us luck and we'll thank and wish him luck going back to the states. We'll take it from there, and I bet we'll be loaded with fit players and a boosted team to keep going for that sort of great run and what we're here for. COYB.

completely agree.  i think we'll find it difficult when he leaves and results will reflect this.  coleman is a decent player but donavan is a top level player who has been there and done.  and let's not forget coleman isn't even a wide midfielder he's a right back playing out of position.  and i beleive that it's landon donavan as a person, i.e his mentality and personality, not just lnadon as a player that effects us in such a positive way

i think in the summer a new right midfielder is a must.

I think Coleman is missed, he was our most direct player when we were playing badly and in a team showing more effort he will be brilliant again don't care whether it is at full back or right mid.

I wish we could start a season like we finish one!  We'd certainly have CL football.
