Everton Vs Chelsea - few questions..

Taking my nephew to his first footy match on Saturday, unfortunately its a compromise as he's decided at the wise old age of 13 he wants to support Chelsea, and i said i'd take him to see his first game... i've got us tickets in the paddock about 5 rows back in the centre as i thought at least he'll see a bit of all round action rather than be in Gwladys St or Park end and all the goals be at the other side - never sat in the Paddock before, is it alright?

Main question aswell is when ive been to Goodison before (which sadly isnt too regularly coming from Leeds) i've been driven over and we've parked nearby, since we're getting the train over can anyone tell me the best place to get a bus to Goodison near the station (lime street), and most importantly the best way of getting back to the station after the game bearing in mind we have a 7.30pm train to catch.

last time i had to get a train back after a match at Goodison we waited about 2 hours for a bus that never came and ended up jumping in some poor p*ssed up lads taxi, but that was an evening game ..

Buses....last time i went i think i got the bus from Hood street (near lime st station)......after the game, there's a bus stop across the road from the Megastore (sometimes i've get a bus within 5 mins, sometimes you might be waiting 20 mins) brings you back in to the city centre....
not being in the paddock before, but been in the lower bullens a good few times....i'd say you won't get a fantastic overall view of the game, cause you'll be a bit low down, but with a kid it'll be grand, he'll be happy to see the players so close up.

the buses are about 120 yards from lime street...more or less opposite the station....you need to get a number 19 bus (theres one every ten mins or so it will cost you £1.80 and will drop you outside goodison at the park end. after the match you can get the lime street specials for £2 which will take you back to lime street with no stops on the way which can be caught on the county road or back of park end after the match or you can get the number 19 back.....try and make the lad see sense regarding his allegiences mind!!!!!!

Cheers NSNO - ill get there with a bit of time to spare so i can find these bus stops, and yeah that's what i was thinking about him getting to see them a bit close up for the first time, if he likes it i'll take him to the Gwladys St end for a match.. slowly get him converted ;)

Might be a bit of a daft question to ask this as i dont suppose anyone would really be bothered in here about seeing the away players but anyone have any idea of roughly what time the away team coach pulls in and if there's a little area where you can wait to see the playrs coming in/get an autograph, i think he'd be made up with that but i guess the coaches can get in at any time really... and assume there isnt such an area for us to see the Everton players going in?
when ive been before its always straight in to the ground but getting a bit caught up in the excitement of the lads first game, im feeling like a bit of a kid again myself... kinda like how christmas gets boring and loses it's excitement till the first day you spend it again with your kids/young family haha

cheers jimbob, looking like a bus should be easy enough on the day then, i must have just had a 1 off bad experience with the busses the other time, maybe being an evening game had something to do with it too.
Sadly the lad comes from a generation of kids only interested in the real madrids, barcelonas, chelseas and man citys of the world because its just like being on FIFA / Football manager and going and buying any player you want isnt it! i'll do my damn best though!

that might be considered cruelty to children.....its too late for us, but you can save you nephew from years of heartache.......

For seeing the everton players.....the carpark behind the Park end....ye'll have to be their early, but the players sign some autograhs when they leave their cars.
Chelsea will arrive in by coach, you'll not get much chance of autographs....seen the newcastle team leave after a match a few years back (alot of scumbags just shouting abuse at the bus)......

in the paddock, ye'll be pretty much pitchside, so if he shouts at the players during the warm up he might get lucky with an autogragh........

ah we wont be getting in to Liverpool until about midday so assume by the time we got to Goodison it would be a bit too late to catch the Everton players, he migh get lucky and catch the Chelsea coach depending on how cold it is and if we can be @rsed standing around on the off chance!

should be alright for the chelsea players... the away team usually arrives about 1/1.30ish at goodison rd players entrance...usually a crowd there though !

you do sometimes get to see the injured/fringe players at the park end car park...i used to take me lad there early for autographs etc when he was young...l....

Just a quick thanks for the above help last week, got to and from the stadium easily and quickly , suprised that there arnt more people get the bus from country road.

Sadly i had mixed emotions on the day as it was my nephews first footy game with the hope of turning him from the dark side (Chelsea) into a toffee, but he didnt really enjoy seeing his team get stuffed, which meant i couldnt fully enjoy our win as much as i would normally have done.
He later said he liked Liverpool (the city not the team thank god) though and had had a good day was just a bit down about the result. i reckon if i take him to see us play a team he isnt so keen on and have him supporting us i can still work the Everton magic on him.

Was sat right in front of where Neville put the big tackle in on cole, which was fantastic, but as someone mentioned before, we were probably sat a little too close to the front, it was difficult to see some of the action on the far side and you dont see some of the good runs being made quite as well.. Might opt for lower bullens next time!
