I hate to say it cause he did play weel. there were points in Saha when he did battle and in time people did not see that and just looked at his scoring record.

I hope straq can score some goals and look to sign on perm here and show us what he is really made of.

What a difference playing Straq instead of Saha. I agree with you all Denis was my man of the match , great first touch, bags of effort and desire and I havent seen an Everton front man chase every ball down for years like he did last night. hope he can keep it up.

Important point to make about Straq, is he was outstanding tonight because he was intelligent. Yes he ran his socks off and ran hard, but he wasnt a headless chicken, he ran in the right areas, its called marking space and prevented them moving the ball quickly or stopping the killer pass, running to pull the defenders towards their own goal also. The 2 centre backs were not comfortable, 1. coz he harried them but 2. he also made them play the ball too huridly at times because of his positional sense, they didnt know if he was going to hit them or not. Played great controled balls, and held on to it well, always looking to turn them and face goal, so all in all deservedly MOTM. Heitz, Hibbo, Felli ran him close though....

Well said Howie! All we need now is a poacher like Jelavic or Vellios playing up front with him to bang em in while Stracq terrorises the defence. Hope Moyes realises this as well, lol.

I've said since first seeing him play for us that he's got Great feet for a Big Man, he could be the New Greame Sharp!

I would envisage, long term, Moyes remaining on a 4-4-1-1 setup with Straq and Jelavic as the front 2.

But I don't know which one would be in the Cahill role! It's something nobody would know until we try it!
