Stracqualursi Was Fantastic Today

For me, Denis was man of the match. He was absolutely everywhere today; in defence, up front, helping the midfield out. He held the ball up well, was a nuisance to the Manchester City defence, he was a physical presence, he was great in the air, he had a never say die attitude. The only thing missing was a goal, not that he needed it. Denis tonight was practically the anti-Saha. Great stuff. I hope to see him start at Wigan on Saturday.

HE SEEMED TO HAVE A BIT MORE OF A SPRING IN HIS STEP ! HIS OVATION ON GOING OFF WILL HELP HIM FEEL HE BELONGS HERE TOO ! THOUGHT FELLANI WAS OUTSTANDING ASWELL ! SO COMPOSED HARDLY EVER LOSES THE BALL AND PANIC THE OPPOSITION WHENEVER HE GOES NEAR THEM ! HEITINGA LOOKED VERY ASSURED ASWELL ! AND HIBBO DID WELL STANDING IN AT CB !

Agreed, he was fantastic today. Would love to see him paired up with Jelavic or Vellios. Vic could go on for Stracq or vice versa, but who do we drop to accommodate two up front? Think our midfield looked great today, was good to see Felli able to go forward more.

Yeah, I really hope Moyes doesn't decide to drop him for Jela. I think we'll see Jela from the bench until he's settled in anyway.

Hopefully 4-4-2 with Straq and Jela.

Keep rabbiting on, but Straq's first touch was class, he lays the ball off so well.

He does what a loan striker is supposed to do, especially in big games. Relieve pressure of the defence, get hold of the ball, get us possession and move us up the pitch. He did everyone of those tonight. Most importantly of all, he ran himself ragged.

Lone striker I think. Although he is a striker on loan.

He certainly was great last night. Got great feet and worked his socks off.

He is only on loan isnt he? Just on Sky at the start of the match they said we'd signed him a small fee and made out like he was a perm transfer.

Yeah he's on a year long loan... I hope we sign him on a perm deal, he's a great targetman, he can hold the ball up, lay it off with his head and feat, he chases everything, defends as good as anyone else on the pitch, with Jelavic (who we know can score goals) playing along side him, I see good things happening for us, the only prob being, 4-4-2 aint one of DM's favourite formations... but you never know, if I can see it perhaps DM has too, lol

I rekon we would defs have a future fee set for him, and that it wouldnt at all be too high, and i would defs take it, 2 consistently good performances and can't be dropped for Jela after that match

Yes he was fantastic, and deserved that unbelievalble ovation he got. Also, 2 players who have got stick on here, Hibbert and especially Heitinga were emense

The lad has been exactly what we've needed in the last 2 games, passionate committed performance. People have been saying his techinical ability doesnt match his work rate but his link up play last night was amazing. Fully deserved his ovation, and if this form continues he will become a legend.

Baffles me that hes been sat on the bench for the best part of the season. The city defence simply could not cope and other players seemed to up their game, cahill for example was full of running all night winning tackles at both ends of the pitch. Timmy's been in for alot of stick this season but i think he will return to form with decent strikers to feed off.

The defence hardly put a foot wrong all night aswell, hibbo and heitinga forming and inexplicably strong partnership at the back.

End of season signings will hopefully be Drenthe, Strac and Pienaar. Would LOVE to sign Donovan on a permanent as well, but that's more than likely not going to happen.......
