Drenthe was awful today

    Couldn't keep the ball, didn't pass and was just not doing us any favours at all

    He is just as talented as any other player on the pitch but the problem is he doesn't have a footballing brain.

    you lot dont know anything, when your team beats the best team in the league you cant say anyone hasnt played well, you usually do this with neville and hibbert, so i stick up for them i`m sticking up for drenth

    He's like Walcott, his decision making is very questionable although he does occasionally get it right.

    Thought he was very poor first half but must've had a Moyes hairdryer at half time. I wasn't even expecting him to come out for the second half.

    However he did well enough in the second half

    In some ways we saw the best and worst of Drenthe tonight. He always wants to take his man on and is always thinking positively when going forward but its also his downfall as he doesn't always do it at the right time and can give away the ball when we need to keep hold of it.

    Think his only other problem is he doesn't seem to know how to slow himself down. He's really quick but the only way that he seems to stop himself is by running into another player and he gets himself booked for it. As others have said though if he can just sort his decision making out he can become a much bigger asset to the team than he is already

    played some excellent balls tonight, won a few tackles too, one that sticks in my mind was the one where he won it in mid-field carried the ball between a couple of city players and laid it off to bainsy which we scored from, he did ok, he worries defenders taking them away from our other players, giving them space... yeah he makes mistakes and loses the ball with bad passes sometimes... no more than Jack R. or a lot of other players, give the guy a break, he's young and will become a world beater

    drenthe was brilliant, just not all the time. but who is. he started the attack that got us the goal.

    Have to watch the game on TV, the tackle he threw in against Richards looked like a red carder.

    The one thing I like about him is when he is on the ball you feel that something positive will happen, so maybe 80% of the time it goes wrong but when he gets it right it gives the crowd a buzz.

    It's his first time in Premier League (is it ?) and still young and gaining experience, wants to do all kinds of things going forward with the ball, should be getting better ?

    Drenthe is by far the most exciting player we have.

    His break forward is what created the goal for us - He also tracked back well when Richards came forward.

    I love watching him play and has all the attributes to become something really special - needs games before we see his true potential.

    Makes watching Everton exciting again.

    Drenthe is by far the most exciting player we have.

    His break forward is what created the goal for us - He also tracked back well when Richards came forward.

    I love watching him play and has all the attributes to become something really special - needs games before we see his true potential.

    Makes watching Everton exciting again.

    He lost the ball and that put is under pressure, could have easily gave Man City a goal

    Russell, he is a liability at present. But he is an exciting player and I hope we keep him.

    Think that Pienaar coming in might do him good. In that he will come in and doing everything Drenthe doesn't do but should, he might keep Drenthe out of the team and the eye of other clubs a bit and if Pienaar doesn't stay then Drenthe should know what he needs to do to make the position his own. Hopefully we can get him signed though as he does have good potential.

    Other than that you seem far to keen to over look his failings and I take this is a sign that you enjoy watching black men physically exert themselves to the extent where your opinion on the matter should be treated as that of a giggling 14 year old school girl at a boy band concert.

    He really is exciting but watch last nights game again and tell me he covered Bainsey sorry there were gaps wider the entrance to the tunnel

    He was fantastic last night. Yes, he had a few moments of error, but with more consistent games, he will improve and learn what not to do.

    He went on a good run that set up the cross for Gibson's goal, and when we lost the ball, he was there with his pace within a second to pressure the City player who had it.
