Blue Union....Maybe some good has come out of it?............ Now with added poll!

Now, I'm not saying that Blue Union or any of the people who supported them before or after the meeting have done anyone associated with Everton FC a favour, certainly not Moyes.

To be honest I can't believe Moyes felt the need to mention this cracked gang of walter mitty wannabe’s on MotD. But mention them he did, if maybe in the heat of the aftermath of the whole sorry debacle. Lets hope he uses it for the next couple of games to build the siege mentality that has been his forty in the past... Christ knows the team need it after QPR.

I’m not sure I know which member of which group that forms part of Blue Union has just resigned, the news past before my eyes without the slightest inclination to take in any additional detail. But I’d like to suggest that we should not pay it any mind what so ever, for our sake and theirs.

Hopefully the denizens of Toffeeweb, the likes of those obsessed with Mr Green on Kipper and those who still like to talk about ‘what could have been’ had the Fortress Sports Fund not put an end to Mr Gregg’s take over attempt, will now take note of that which has long been obvious to most of us:

Going too far down that road makes you look like the hapless_twunt you so clearly are.

Making that point beneath the full sweltering glare of the public and the press not only underlines that point but also draws attention to a whole host of fruit loops that this club, and any other, could do without. Or at the very least, could do without hearing from, again, in any capacity.

Frankly, I hope Toffeeweb in particular just closes its doors and falls off the internet as a direct result of this damning episode in the clubs history for its own role in the ‘radicalisation’ of the more susceptible of our fan base.

But aside from that and as others have pointed out... Blue Union members, more than likely distracted by the wurring sound of the cassette tape in one of their pockets, didn’t even pick up on the main event.

The big hint that Kenwright offered them, in fact you could argue it was probably the reason Kenwright agreed to the meeting. The comment regarding a possible ground share being something that both Everton’s current and future owners might well look at... and that Mr J W Henry is now open to.

You can read into that what you like, and I’m sure many will.

Personally, I think it a touch odd that a club that refuses to talk about the players of another clubs is prepared to talk about the owner of our nearest rival sharing a stadium (that was from the agreed article, not the tape). There has also been no word to the contrary from Liverpool on the subject, although there has been a steady stream of hints suggesting its validity.

You could also argue that one of the most important people in any deal to purchase Everton would also be the person who could help sort out Everton’s stadium issues... again, Mr J W Henry.

Funny how Kenwright also adds that there is someone interested but he ‘hasn’t called me back’ in the same meeting.

In any case, and conspiracy theories aside, the football buying world has been made painfully aware just how desperate Everton and Kenwright are to find a buyer. That Everton has a squad of players that remain happy to stay, that the club even with the constraints of its aging stadium are able to tread water... just. And that Liverpool’s new owners also need a new stadium too and are willing to look at sharing.

That’s as good as any fan wanting new owners can hope for in terms of an attractive situation for wealthy new investors of the calibre that are open to the idea of building one of the most impressive stadiums in the country, as would befit both teams.

And now, we can also see those whining about those who run our club with the means available to them for what they are. Those who let their imaginations run wild with tall tales of smoke filled rooms, shady deals, retail magnates and off shore mountains of salted away transfer cash and worse... Now, as Blue Union disintegrates under the weight of its own shame, we can all agree that is behind us and that we can now deal with these people in the appropriate manner:

    • Do not attempt to take anything they say seriously

    • Approach with extreme sympathy

    • Do not ridicule their point of view for their mental state may well be fragile

    • Escort them away from the ground, and to the nearest hospital, for all our sakes

Maybe Blue Union have done us all some good!

Well, you asked for something on the situation regarding the Blue Union affair. Now that its pretty much all in the open, I thought I'd do as you asked.

That said, I'm not open for requests!

I always felt 1 part of the Blue Union would ruin it all.

I may be wrong but 1 part was very open another was always confrontational and would try and belittle anyone who questioned them.

What they did was bad and it seems Toffeweb still applaud them which is surprising.

To be complete honest. I've not looked at toffeeweb for a very long time now and have no clue how they took to or have reacted since regarding blue union. But, even from my lofty tower, I can guess.

As some bloke said once. 'insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result'

In the cold light of day after a very negative week and game and result I feel the Blue Onion has done nothing but rock the foundations of our club and have run the risk of us turning into a RS gillette/hicks debarcle, the only differance is we wont get saved at the final hour, if the fans are negative it spills out to the team and the media would love nothing better than a huge football club to be destroyed because of the money in todays game issue so will jump all over this story after every defeat

We all knew we had no money and had to sell to buy, maybe a few things like the banks not willing to lend untill we sell is shocking but did this really need unveiling just days before the start of our season, we need our spirit back, prove the critics an the pundits an the media wrong an show them what were really about, and less of this bitching an moaning coz were not RS, weve been through the $hit before and we stayed standing, an if we go through it again we'll still be here, thats what makes us better than the rest of the glory hunters, thats what gives us bragging rights about being the best fans, we need to put this week behind us and keep any bad feeling towards the board seperate from the team

Now im getting back on me white horse lol

Im sorry, but to me arent these people (BU) just trying to do something about the state of ouyr football club. Dont get Me wrong the taping bit is completely out of order and they made a massive mistake doing this, imo. I just get a bit fed up with people having a go at those fans trying to do something about this.

That's fair comment and a good point. I was supportive of these guys, and I think what they'd initially set out to do was right, but the methods by which they did this, as you also say, was wrong.

Im a bit confused, the Bu were given the ok to have the meeting as there was a lot of questions they and we wanted answering. Now fair play they did just that. However were all angry with them for taping the meeting and therefore disclosing all we wanted to know. How were we going to know if they hadnt taped the meeting, what was the plan for us to know after the meeting was held. Just like to know.

I agree to the extent that it is good that fans look to try and help make sure their club is being run correctly.

But this wasn't a case of that. This was an assortment of splinted Everton fan groups, coming together to meet with the club chairman under one banner.

They accused him of not being honest with them while secretly taping the conversation with them.

They took exception to being asked if they understood the clubs accounts while making it clear, even with the full benefit of further time to research their points that they don't have a clue about even the most basic of financial terms, let alone a full set of accounts.

They didn't even notice the one bone Kenwright threw them, in the way you might reasonably expect them not to recognise their own elbow from their backside.

They acted in such a shameful manner that the club manager felt the need to mention their sorry antics on MotD.

They are fantasists, well meaning fools but fools none the less. And they have brought embarrassment upon the club and themselves.

Lets be clear, we laughed at the youtube clip asking Hicks and Gillett to 'jogg on'

We laughed at ManYoo fans barricading the Glazers in at Old Trafford whilst charting 'glazers out'.

Lots of clubs have their fair share of cringe inducingly stupid fans.....but we should recognise them as such, and certainly not commend them or be appreciative of their ill thought out and idiotic efforts.

The issue with the taping is they should have sought agreement with BK, and done this openly and above board

I understand what you aare saying, but these are desperate times for a lot of Blues, and they just went for it.. I do not know any of the people who went to this meeting, but I presume they are ordinay people going into a world like this for the first time and probaly with not a lot of ideas of how they should act...it was proably new to them.

It would appear the issue was quite clear thats why uit was secretly taped.

1 bloke on twitter said they had to secretly tape the mmeting as they were seeking truth and transparency.

    Couldn't make it up really.

The Chairman offered to talk to the Union privately and i am quite sure if they asked to arrange a formal meeting that could be documented the Chairman would have considered it.

I believe the last thing this club will now do is talk openly with the fans.

    Blue Union failed miserably
