One has a good goals to games ratio in the Scottish premier league and is available for 6 million (maybe more), and not guaranteed to adapt to the EPL.

One has a decent goals to games ratio and has ENGLISH PREMIER league experience so wouldn't need to adapt and is available for about 4.5million.

I'll leave the bickering over who would be better for us between you all.

I will say though, i dont know anything about Jelavic, i think people are getting excited cos we are linked to a striker, and are not really thinking about the implications rationally.

If he comes, great, i hope he is a success. However, if the board are doing it to appease the fans, then from my perspective, i would stick with what we have, get through this season, and look for a striker in the summer. We dont have much, and i would rather we didnt spend for spendings sake tbh.

In desperation for a striker, with good money i wouldnt have gone for either, however for us beggars cant be chosers. In which case i would have to go with Jelly, as ive never been that impressed with Rods, a bit of a selfish player which isnt a bad thing for a striker, but not good for a team ethic club like us. Jelly is more of a striker suited to Moyes dependancy on crosses, Baines and any dead ball crossers( from corners recently weve had Osman, Donavan, Gueye and Drenthe ).
You going tomorrow Sambo, ink has now dried on your book mate......

No mate, night games are a luxury for me unfortunately, with work, and then the traffic on the M62 is rubbish so its a right push to get there. Im hoping for the next round of the FA CUP howie, thanks for keeping hold of it for me :)

Jay mate, im making a valid point really, we have limited resource, and i dont want us to waste it just for the sake of it. Is all im saying. I was jsut giving a comparison, for people to mull over. Howie makes a good point with regards Rodellega and i can understand where he is coming from :)

How does Rodallega have a good goals to games ratio? Hes only got 1 or 2 this season and was hardly prolific last season. I personally wouldnt give him the steam off my s**t. He aint good enough for Everton. Id rather have Jelly beans.

25 goals in over 100 games is not decent....it sucks.

And to say Jelavic might not adapt is a bit **** too.....you could say that about any player coming from any league!

1 in 4 for wigan is good don.

I think the worry about adapting is that the spl is equal to league one but he'll be coming with more expectation than there was for beckford...

he plays for Wigan though Don, you have to factor that in with his goal ratio.

a fair point....but look at other strikers at poorer clubs who have still scored goals at lower Premiership clubs at much better ratio than Hugo i.e Darren Bent at Charlton and.......ummmm.......can't think of anyone else lol.

But you have to agree that my second point was right Sambo.

In all fairness mate, im open to ideas with regards a striker, if its Jelavic i trust Moyes to make the right decision, i see your point with regards Rodellega's goals record, also little niggle in my head says SPL to EPL is a big step up, so maybe more of a gamble. However, am sure it will work out for the best :)

How's about Yakubu for Blackburn, Dempsey for Fulham, Helguson for QPR, Fletcher for Wolves. Going back thru the Prem years there's Les Ferdinand for QPR, Le Tiessier for Southampton, Harewood for West Ham, Yak for Portsmouth and Boro, Beattie for Southampton, Saha for Fulham, Forsell for Birmingham, Pablo Angel for Villa, Anelka for Man City, AJ for Crystal Palace, Hasselbank for Boro, Sutton for Norwich, Dublin for Coventry etc etc. There's loads and loads!

Every premier league team creates chances - Rodellaga's goal return is poor
whatever way you look at it.

With the exception of Harewood, most of those players were much, much better than him and in today's market I don't think you'd get any of 'em for less than... well I was going to say £10m but there we go... Yak!!!

Donovan has taken the number 9 shirt so what number is Jelavic going to be? I'll guess 7 or 16
