Daily Mail reporting that we have offered £5m but Rangers want £7m. If the move falls through we will go for Hoillet or Doyle.

We will also make a loan move for Guillaime or Castaignos.

There is also hope of buying Manolas.

Can't help being a little concerned about paying this much for Jelevic, given our lack of funds. We could probably get both Nicky Maynard and Jordan Rhodes for that amount, and they've both been scoring goals at a higher level than the SPL.

A goalscorers a goal scorer, its his natural thing and if our current boys can provide the service he will score, undoubtedly

Some team had a bid of 6 million for Jordan Rhodes turned down but I cant remember which club, most probably West Ham. Just because they play in the lower leagues doesn't make them cheap. If we bring in Jelavic/Doyle and a centre back then I'll consider that a decent window seeing as we're actually spending money on first team players for the first time in 2 years.

*Everton are hoping to finalise a deal with AEK Athens after firming up their interest in defender Kostas Manolas, Sky Sports understands.

Sky Sports exclusively revealed Everton's interest in the Greek defender last month, and since then David Moyes has confirmed his interest in the 20-year-old.

Now Moyes is looking to conclude a deal before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

With Manolas out of contract in the summer, AEK are now ready to cash in on one of their prized assets.

Everton are understood to have lodged a €500,000 (£419,000) bid with AEK, who are now considering the bid, although there is believed to be a rival offer on the table.

The Toffees are now pushing for an answer as they need to conclude the deal before Tuesday's deadline.
