Depends on what uses it will have.

You could get a higher spec laptop if you went with a different brand.

yeah but i just like my sony's mate, you kind of get used to a brand being reliable etc! i only really use it for itunes, surfing the net etc, it doesnt have to do anything special, i dont watch films on it or anything like that. but i dont want a notebook!

Only thing I'd suggest then is to get one with a decent amount of Ram in it, helps with faster multi tasking. My wifes has 2 gb in and mine has 8gb and the difference is amazing. Obviously the bigger the hard drive the better, But truthfully noy upto date with the new processors.

At least with Sony you know you getting quality with quality parts.

Pop down to your local comet/Curries and have a look and ask in there. Then as Rank1 says shop about online you would then probably save a bit as well. Ebuyer, Dabs and Misco are usually cheaper than the high street and Argos even usually have some decent offers on.

Make sure you get at least a second generation core i5 and a decent graphics card included (if you play games) and 6gb+ ram, that Samsung should play most new games. Price seems to have gone up £50 or so!

Hey Sambo mate, how are ye? Just saw this post as I was searching the forum for the latest transfer news. Funnily enough, I happen to work in a sony centre over in Ireland.

If your looking for a decent everyday laptop at a decent price, check out the following model: VPCEH2N1E, it's got a core i-5 processor and should be priced around 500 squid over in the UK, but get your hands on one quick as stocks are low, due to the model being at the end of its production cycle. When it first came out 3 months ago it would have been around £650 and I suspect the new core i-5 model that replaces it will start at that price too, while only being marginally better than the VPCEH2N1E in terms of performance.

If however, you are looking for a good gaming laptop, check out the Vaio F series range, they come with better grapics cards and a full HD display, but it will cost you a bit more. If you need anymore info just send me a message.

am good mate, you? just googled VPCEHN1E but nothing came up, says the product code doesnt exist or something or other? dont really play games on laptop, got the ps3 for that, so gaming isnt top priority. would be nice to have bluray, but same again, got ps3 for that so it isnt a must :)

Not too bad mate, just hope we get some new players before deadline day! And yeah, sorry, it's VPCEH2N1E, left out the "2" by mistake, lol. For sheer value, that laptop comes out on top- good specs and good price :)

Prefer my PS3 for gaming as well, no comparison!

    I play PES :p
Couldn't stand the defending when I played the Fifa demo, put me right off, even though I had been looking forward to playing it for ages! Heard the full game plays much better than the demo tho, so maybe I was a bit hasty.

lol, we are down to our last few in white over here, after that it's only pink left! try this one, it's similar spec but a bit more expensive: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5086108/Trail/searchtext%3ESONY+VAIO.

Yeah, pes is decent this year. It's a pity they lag behind fifa when it comes to transfer updates and that they don't have nearly as many teams and different leagues to chose from. I'm happy as long as a can play as Napoli tho - really hope they beat the stuffing out of chelski the champions league!

I bought MW3 but haven't played it online propperly yet, due to the fact that I have been spending most of my gaming time on skyrim and pes. Howver now that I've finnaly finsihed skyrim, I will prob start playing MW3 and Soul Calibur 5 online. My psn name is Capricorn_King84 , lol, add me if ur playing any of those games mate!

Yes especially if you have an Iphone , macbook pro had mac/apple for years and no problems with quality or viruses or bugs just an Italian **** o channel that has the same name as one of our local souppies seemed to cause a bit of a stir to the innards for a couple of days  and you can also run it as a windows machine if you want
