2 up front an obsession

Its becoming an obsession with fans to ask for 2 up front. However very few teams in the Prem play with 2up front, its always 1,1. The midfield we have at Everton means we cant afford to play 2, even at home, coz they are too slow and no natural wide players.

I have no issue with 451 as long as the one in the hole is creative

everyteam plays with 2 upfront, or 1 upfront with 2 wingers pushed right up more into a 4-3-3 not to centre mids deep on the wing, also teams who do play 1upfront have a striker who can hold the ball up, stop making excuses for bad managment

beckford isn't good enough to play as a 2 never mind as a 1. Shouldv'e been saha with cahill SLIGHTLY behind. mikky, felli shoulda both started. Moyes took his eye off the ball, thought he'd win the game without thinking about it. out of order. end of.

leading goalscorer last year, although beckford got a few, for a striker, he misses a load o chances, and has a very bad touch. cahill causes a nuisance and gets himself fouled etc Wasn't happy when we signed him, still not happy.

The truth is Cahill offers the team nothing unless he is scoring goals.

cahill offers very little in open play when hes not in goal scoring form. at times becomes a bit of a passenger, at least beckford has pace. how many times last season did we see our counter attacks reach the last third of the pitch then go side ways slowly, waiting for baines or neville to cross into a crowded box.
the transfer window is getting closer and we havent sold one of our best players yet. hmmm. Blue bill will probably have someone lined up for deadline day, when it will be too late to bring anyone in. kerching...
just hope its not baines or we will be f£££ed.

LUKE u answered my statement really. no excuses we havent got the players to play 2 up front. Every season there is a scapegoat, sadly its Cahill for most of you. Its your opinion but i disagree, our failings start at the back, as good a defender as Jags is, even specsavers wud be hard pressed to sort out his eyesight. Midfield nothin happens except an obsession to get the ball out to Baines or Neville, doesnt Moysey realise everyone knows that, vary it go through the chanels for gods sake. Up front Becfords hold up play is awful, bounces off him so far and his passing is done blind. As for Saha, his control yesterday was embarrassing. Will he get better , well im not so sure, he's getting on and his injuries are a reason for this.

Bring back the YAK! Don't know why but I love this guy. (Didn't mean to rhyme, twice)

Moyes doesn't like him because he doesn't run around a lot or at all but if he get the goals who gives a f*ck. People moan about Bent (Darren not the Everton legend Marcus ;-) ) because he only scores goals but he was only at Villa January onwards last season became their leading goalscorer.

I agree, the most strikers are judges on goals.

Said it before and i'll say it again.......

Tim Cahill should NOT be in our starting 11 anymore !!

We sacrifice an awful lot when we play him behind the striker. Yes he will grab you a goal here and there but the team would benefit and perform a lot better without him starting. He doesn't link up play..... or should that be can't link up play. He does absolutely nothing for 90 minutes.

We do NOT need to play 4-5-1 to accomodate a player whose only real threat is from a deadball situation !!

We're all entitled to an opinion, and so im entitled to mine, and i dont give a damn if im in the minority but i dont agree with you. Ask the players who play with him, if they would rather him in or out of the team , i know what they'd say, IN.

Face it, playing Tim Cahill in that role is old and predictable now. It worked well a couple of years ago but its time to move on.

Last season proved the point..... We started with Cahill at the start and whilst he personally was scoring a few goals, we had to sacrifice that and the rest of the team struggled....... We struggled and we were sh.ite !!

Its no coincidence that for the rest of the season with him not in the side we were quite decent. We weren't a one trick pony show and we were more of a threat from other area's of the field.

With Tim Cahill playing in that position, we will never have a striker scoring more than 15 goals. He is clueless in that position when it comes to open play football. NOT good enough !! Why are we playing 4-5-1 with Cahill in the hole if his only contribution and real threat is from deadball situations ?......why ?
