A founder member of the Football League in 1888 and the first club to win the league championship in 1891, Everton is the only club to have played in more that 100 searsons in the top flight of English football. It reached its zenith with Howard Kendall's sides of the mid-1980s, which won the league twice in three seasons, along with the FA Cup and a European Cup Winners Cup. The club is now consolidating its position as a top 10 Premiership club.

Hey in reality how they come to these figures are beyond me as everton have no tangable assets. The only asset we might own is Goodison park. How players are included in this valuations is beyond me as players purchased there value is written off over the length of the contract so potentiall value less. Players brought through the academy are value less with a best guess.

So my thinking is since Kenwright has taken over he has devalued the club. Just because we had been the most consistant performer out of the top four for the past 8 years means nothing in value.

Everton own nothing and have £50 million potentiall in debts.

If I was interesting in buying a club I wouldn't buy everton our sponsorship deals are shocking our revenue is under and the team performances are woeful, you'd have to be brave or thick to buy everton... Quite sad in reality :/

the players are classed as assets though Jay Lad, and the stadium, as knackered as it is, is still an asset.

Yeah the players are not classed as assets in such. Assets are physical holdings. The problem with players is that they could wait till the end of there contract and leave for free. In essacne When arteta left(using this examplet and the figures are easy) Arsenal bought him for 10 mill with a 5 year contract (i think) in essance his value to the club is 10 / 5 = 2 million that is his worth to the club in an Asset view. Everton Owned Bellefield, finch farm etc selling these off to then rent back finch farm as we could not afford to build the site. There are also reports the loans from the banks have been called in, making the banks tech own goodison park till everton clear all or enough of the debts.

In the share world it is pratice to buy low and sell high. So this could be a good time for a person to invest refresh the system then leave in a couple of years with a little investment etc.

If somebody is buying the club, the players are classed as assets mate. They will all have a valuation, and that will be factored into the price of the club. Im 99.999999% sure of that mate :)

In financial accounting, assets are economic resources. Anything tangible or intangible that is capable of being owned or controlled to produce value and that is held to have positive economic value is considered an asset. Simply stated, assets represent ownership of value that can be converted into cash (although cash itself is also considered an asset).

The balance sheet of a firm records the monetary value of the assets owned by the firm. It is money and other valuables belonging to an individual or business. Two major asset classes are tangible assets and intangible assets. Tangible assets contain various subclasses, including current assets and fixed assets. Current assets include inventory, while fixed assets include such items as buildings and equipment.

Intangible assets are nonphysical resources and rights that have a value to the firm because they give the firm some kind of advantage in the market place. Examples of intangible assets are goodwill, copyrights, trademarks, patents and computer programs, and financial assets, including such items as accounts receivable, bonds and stocks.

Were saying the same thing just in diffrent way. Players are intangible assets where as buildings etc are tangable. yes players do add value to the club but in a vastly diffrent way than buildings. A true players value to the club is diffrent between Osman and Fellaini. Osman brough through the club potentially has a value of 0. while feliani was bought at 15 mill over 4 years. Some thing like that. If you look at Everton book the tangable assets have vastly dropped over the past 8 - 10 years while the tangable assets have increased. This is basicly the players value. But in club resale this does not hold a full weight as tangable assets.

"Hey in reality how they come to these figures are beyond me,,,"

"How players are included in this valuations is beyond me,,,"

    if you say so.

I reckon that the sales price of EFC would be about half of those numbers. if the board were offered 70 - 80 mill they should take it.
