While we're in this january window situation, I'd like to ask you evertonians, which player did you underrate most, and got you surprised by his ability and has helped the team later on?

Fellaini without a doubt, it was amazed when I heard we had paid £15M on a player I had never heard of.

Osman, he wasn't worth the £4m we paid Leeds

Distin. I though he was over the hill, and just a short-term warm body. He has been excellent in the back, and he's a wise old owl who has seen everything before and I think has been a mentor to Jagielka. I'm glad we have him. Seems like a solid citizen too.

I take the stance that anybody we sign is crap, then if they turn out to be decent its a pleasant surprise.

Dave Watson was awful when he came to Everton, and took over from a legend in Mountfield, but eventually turned into Captain Fantastic.......

    Coleman.

Then again I didn't think much of Jags, Baines or Arteta when we first bought them.  I also didn't think Howard was gonna be as good as he has been.

I'm also gonna throw Bent into the mix.
