The Blue Union have tried to highlight the plight of the club and whilst
ALL Evertonians want the same thing, some fans have questioned the Blue
Unions methods and credentials because of a smear campaign fabricated
    by the club.

They have some good ideas but I am against several things BU have done and it is nothing to do with a board smear campaign..  Talking of smear campaigns.. what do BU think of the board?
Oh yeah they think the board are deceitfull, based on evidence gained through a recorded meeting..
This sort of hypocrosy is lost on many, I appreciate what they are doing and I agree the board do need to go but more attention needs to go on what they do compared to what the accuse the board of doing.
We are skint and need every penny we can get to survive .. they announce to the world... during a transfer window.
Little things with a little thought stop becoming big things to throw back at them.
Nothing however that the BU do will alter the fact that their vocal followers on the forums are on the whole not the most open minded. Lay down a reasonable argument against the board getting slated for something or post a positive from the board and they will slate you with language that would make a london gangster blush. Sadly they often throw in the BU as part of the response... Unluckily for the BU, these people will nearly always force more people away from BU than the boards inadaquecies will drive them towards them.

Nothing to do with liking the board just a gripe against the BU, its followers and that comment that the clubs smear campaign is taking people away from their own smear campaign.

Not quite.. Everton sold the land for 2mil.. AFL then created a top class training facility on it.. We then rented that... As far as I can tell anyway.
short term saved us 20mil.. Long term will cost us well over that.

Why is everyone moaning about Kenwright? I don't get it??? No one wants to buy us anyway so he's free to f*ck us over however he pleases!

So still an absolutely fabulous deal then for the FUTURE of the club. What astute business men we must have running the club. They clearly know what they are doing.

Couldn't afford 20mil to build the facilities and had we of done it the cheaper way (long term). i.e if Everton made it themselves, we would not of had the money we spent to buy the players that got us to the positions we got to in the past. Your looking at the best part of the Rooney money which we used instead to build a team which got us into the champions league qualifiers.

the finch farm set up is a joke.  look at the figures yourself and you will see this.  I would rather of sold a player then do what the board has done.

Its an excellent investment opportunity, with the buyer making his money back with around 10 years.  the reason no one is buying it is no one can guarantee we wont be relegated by then, in which case finch farm will be useless

Well, without selling Finch Farm, it probably would never have been developed. Or wouldn't be for the forseeable future. We'd probably still be training at Bellefield which would probably be very out dated (refer to Darron Gibson talk about how suprised he was about the excellent training facilities and how he couldn't wait to start using them) and we wouldn't have got the £2 Million for Finch Farm PLUS the £9 Million for Bellefield = £11 Million

That plus the moey saved on the actual development of Finch Farm (= about £30 Million) sees us train at Finch Farm for over 27 years before we start losing money - by which time, maybe Finch Farm itself will be outdated!

we no longer have an asset, why not go all the way and sell goodison like leeds did, and then lease it back, we would still be playing football on there.

and if we got 9m for bellefield, surely thats two thirds of the cost of finch farm, and we could of got a morgage on the rest,  this way we would be paying considerably less then 1.1m per year and we would actually own our own training ground.

Goodison is alrealy mortgaged to the hilt I believe!

And without the £9 Million for Bellefield, it's logical to say we'd be about £55 Million in debt rather than about £45 Million with the resultant higher 25% higher interest payments and the banks squeezing us even more.

You can't just look at one side of it!

then thats kenrights fault for not getting a good deal, how is it other clubs have way more debt then we do, but we still pay higher interest rates and cant get anymore loans.

If we had sold Rooney and used the money to build FF ourselves then we would not of had the money to have bought Lescott so that's 24mil of the difference paid off right there.. We would not of had money for Jags, Baines, Cahill, Arteta and the others that changed us from relegation fodder to a top 4 team with the help of our training facilities. Think about how much prize money we have had that we wouldn't of.
He has made a lot of mistakes and could maybe of got more or a better rental deal but I think he did the right thing overall on this one.
