Surely to god we have 2.5million for Nedem Onouha??

Cant we just cut our losses on Bilyalazyditnov and recoup 5million and sign Jordan Rhodes??

    Its not rocket science surely?

We only need 3 or 4 players for god's sake, Feel like twisting my ball bag round sometimes with this club until it snaps off its that frickin annoying and frustrating.

Its like the worst pantomine ever, and nobody even gets to shout he's behind you or wagon wheels get thrown into the crowd or anything :(

I have been to a few Rep of Ireland Game in which Gibson has played and i stress now how bad he is. If he cannot get a starting place in the national team ahead of Glenn Whealan, Keith Andrews (who no one wants) Keith Fahy (championship player) then how is he good enough for us. He is no better than what we have in reserve. I know we are shopping in pound land and he may be within our budget, but Moyes will go way down in my estimation if we sign him

If we do have 2.5m to spend we should have given it to Pienaar and asked him to stay as he was quality. Gibson simply is not.

Your comparison is not as simple as you make it out to be.

Trappatoni wants 2 defensive midfielders - Gibson isn't - Whelan and Andrews are!

He also wants players who are playing regularly for their clubs - Gibson isn't - Whelan and Andrews are!

It is the latter issue that is keeping him out of the team most and Trapp has said he rates Gibson really highly but that he simply won't pick a player who never plays for their first team and has urged him to leave Man Utd this January so that he can bring him to the Euro's.

I'm not saying Gibson is great. I simply don't know. And until he gets a run of games at first team level, nobody really does know! But we need creative quality and given our financial situation, buying people like Gibson who have never had a chance is our ONLY chance!

I'd say if someone offered us £5 Million for Bily, it would be accepted!

But what can you do if the bid doesn't exist?

    Not alot fella.

1 million would be enough for Gibson and we need defensive cover so we should bid 2million for Onouha cos i reckon he would sooner come here than go to QPR

With Gibson, if he couldn't agree personal terms with Sunderland in the Summer, who were throwing dosh around like confetti, then I don't see how we'd offer him much more. Less if anything!

I wouldn't mind signing Onuoha either!
The advantage QPR have over us there is that mark hughes knows him so well
£2.5 Million is a really good price for him if it's accurate!

I appreciate what you are saying Beano and maybe i did not make my point in the correct manner.  Gibson has played 17 time for the REP and its my opinion that he never really stood out as being of any real class certainly no better that what we have at the club.  He was on loan at Royal Antwerp and Wolves and from what i hear did not set the world alight.  It is a true reflection of the market of player that we can afford but he will not move us forward.  I know we need substantial investment to do this but it does not mean i have to be happy with Gibson joining us.

Ask united fans what they think of gibson, its not about getting a run in the team, Gibson got up to a point but then never progressed, people thought a few 30 yard strikes was a sign of more things to come, but they were wrong, other aspects in his game are poor, hence why he cant get in the team.

we need a striker ffs.  Villa have just signed robbie keane, i would of taken him on a 2 month loan deal, he is better then what we have here at the moment.

People have to get this into their heads. WE ARE back to the days of signing Kilbane's, McFadden's, Pistone's and Bent's. And that's if we're lucky!! It's the way things are gonna be until investment arrives (never).

No use in complaining that they're not good enough every time it happens! OF cource the manager would rather be bidding for Tevez than Gison, but Gibson is all he can do!

N'ah. I've seen as much of him as they have. Probably more than most of them considering I go to most Ireland home games! Considering he's only started 5 games for Ireland in total (and only 2 or 3 at home), that's not a whole lot either!

Sad but true...i remember being a kid and being happy and excited that we signed anyone at all, usually players id never heard of before that i hoped were going to be fantastic hidden gems. Sadly those players were Ibrahim Bakayoko and Mikel Madar.

sadly this is the case........although what disappoints me is, 6-7 years ago Moyes was finding players like Cahill & Arteta for 2 - 2.5m......surely there are a few gems out there for similar money today that can do a better job than Gibson.....its getting very frustrating!

I think it's much harder to get them now! A Cahill today is more expensive than Cahill in 2004 and there are more clubs swarming around them!
